Thought by many to be a regional backwater Tintar holds its secrets closely guarded by the thick woods that cover much of the lands.
Much of the woodland is too thick for good hunting and many locals believe that areas are haunted by malicious spirits.
The darkness of these woods is foreboding to travelers who are well advised not to stray from the paths.
However to the locals the woods provide a bounty of food and the basis of much local business. Trees are harvested for lumber which is sent to the nearby cities of Azzal and Massilion. More specialized wood products such as bow staves, arrow shafts and charcoal are also exported following the same routes. The region is home to the Tintar Lumbermill and Gentlemen's Club which provides service to all and sundry. The lands of Tintar form part of the eastern boarder of the Great Lake of Tolhuar. Much of the lake boarder is swampy but several fishing villages exist.
Local food is varied but a recurring theme is the use of mushrooms which are harvested in the fall and dried.
