Dren

Dren Kandurell is the last survivor of the three original brothers. He's a tall, haggard looking viking, his height disguising any weight gained from the excessive beer drinking phases that he occasionally goes through. Somewhat naive, Dren tends to become fanatically devoted to certain causes then extremely depressed when they fail.

• Followed Duke Dieter de Blanc of Lasop to secede to form Kamador
• General of Kamador
• Was ousted from Lantzas by the peasants
• Joined Arcaea
• Became a priest of MAE
• Appointed High Priest of MAE
• Married King Jenred Bedwyr of Arcaea to Duchess Edara Kindon of Nocaneb
• Incited Religious Uprising in Talex which made him Duke
• Lost positions as High Priest and Duke as repercussions
• Reappointed an elder of MAE as a member of the College of Cardinals
• Reformed the Church of MAE under the leadership of Patriarch Markus

Ynora

After being swept off her feet and left with child by Euran Yetisbane, utterly abandoned by that less than exemplary gentleman, it is understandable that Ynora developed a somewhat hostile attitude to the rest of the world. She is small in body but ferocious in mind.

Brief History:

• Gave birth to Kaetil
• Raised him in a viking clan in Moramroth, Atamara.
• Took Kaetil to the Far East, for his own protection, then returned to Atamara to do her duty.
• Became a pirate raider after the fall of Norland.
• Arrived in C'thonia to inherit Euran's noble rights.

Euran Yetisbane

Euran is Dren's cousin. He's a massive mean looking raider, covered in scars and missing half an ear. His eye colours don't match, and he has a pair of lungs to rival a Yeti. Which, by the way, he proudly proclaims that he has killed by wearing a Yeti skin. Confident, somewhat ruthless and possessing a sizeable capacity for cunning, Euran is not a man you would want to meet in a dark alley. He can be relatively loyal, and rewards his vassals for their services, but does not suffer foolish men (i.e. anybody who disagrees with him).

Brief History:

• Arrived in Arcachon
• Fought against Sartania
• Joined Kamador
• Baron of Lantzas
• Defected to Arcaea
• Became member of the Arcaean Inner Council
• Discovered his son, Kaetil
• Established and marshalled the Baronial Borderguard
• Died in a duel against a petty whelp whose name does not deserve to be mentioned in the annals of House Kandurell

Sygrum

A vigorous and ambitious, if somewhat strange, youth. Fanatically dedicated to Saguis Astroism.

Brief History:

• Served in Virovene
• Helped establish Thulsamar, a colony of Virovene
• Appointed Justiciar of Thulsamar
• Joined Corsanctum
• Became a Priest of Sanguis Astroism
• Eaten by monsters

Isak

A bold young knight. He spent a long time reading glorious histories and training for combat, before actually entering the fray. Now's he has been slightly tarnished by his experiences; he's still somewhat naive, but he is being suddenly introduced to the ways of the world. He's very loyal to his mentor, Gorch, the Duke of Grehk.

• Joined Riombara
• Fell in battle against Daimons

Macal

Macal is, or rather was, another cousin of Dren's, before an overambitious bard/scribe that had served the family for years killed him and stole his name. This new 'Macal' promptly fled to Dwilight, in an effort to escape notice. He's somewhat scrawny, but also a decent actor; years of servitude have given him plenty of opportunity to study a noble's bearing. He now acts more noble than most nobles.

• Arrived in the Cagilan Empire
• Left for Beluaterra
• Joined Thalmarkin
• Became a priest of the Blood Cult
• Joined Vlaanderen
• Left for Dwilight
• Joined Pian en Luries
• Appointed Marquis of Poryatu
• Lost Poryatu to monster attacks
• Driven insane; vanished into the wilderness.
• Briefly reemerged as a wandering mad adventurer, before being killed by monsters.

Hroppa and Gommun

Hroppa is the eldest of the Kandurell brothers, and perhaps the truest incarnation of their fighting spirit. His one embarrassment is his height - Hroppa stands well below most Vikings. This doesn't seem to reduce his fighting abilities however; as he says, "The enemy reach all the way to the ground!"

Venturing out from Norland to Eston, Gommun is the least Viking of the Vikings. He prefers the concept of chivalry to that of plunder, and is the more reliable brother. He has somewhat unnerving eyes, which seem to stare in an off putting fashion.

Both brothers were killed by the same swift and deadly disease. Perhaps this is a hereditary defect, lingering in the Kandurell blood line?

Other Family Members

Kaetil

The bastard son of Euran Yetisbane, and a somewhat unusual and unnerving child. His mother was Ynora; a strong woman, thoroughly (and understandably) annoyed when Euran left her alone with child. Kaetil currently resides in Arcaea, after being left in Euran's not so capable care.
