The Quintus Ennius family
Family History
The Quintus Ennius family was once a family of nobility of middle-importance. However at a young age Sycheus Quintus Ennius maried a lady of high nobility: Isabelle Archirium. Together with her brothers Sycheus traveled over most continents and had several important positions. Not much is known of his past though. But on a horrible day disaster struck the family and all but a few were killed. It was a cold winter´s day in the region of Ar Mosul when it happened, most of the family was in the family estate when suddenly out of nowhere a great army was spotted at the horizon by on of the villagers. But then it was already too late, the cavalry, of what later showed to be from Perdan, had surrounded the estate within several minutes leaving no escape route. The Perdanese had shown no mercy, not even women and children were spared of the noble family. Their estate was burned down to the ground and most of its wealth was taken from them. The only known survivors were Sycheus Quintus Ennius, father of two sons who also made it: Aeneas Quintus Ennius and Ecuo Quintus Ennius. They were visiting the region's lord at the time of the disaster because of military matters that had to be discussed. About the towns defence among other things, they did not know then it was already too late and futile. It was this travel that saved the lives of Sycheus and his sons who were only 8 when disaster struck.
Sycheus had to flee from Ar Mosul, it was no longer safe. The villages were filled with Perdanese troops and all possessions he had were destroyed or taken, but the things he had with him including some gold, some weapons and a bit of food and clothes. He fled to the area of Castle Ubent, near the mountains. He believed he would be safe there, his father had taught him to hunt and he had brought some peasants with him as well who could help him with that. For 9 years they spend their lives near those mountains, for 9 years did Sycheus train his sons in the art of sword fighting and military science, thanking Sartan for sending them out on that particular day so that they were spared from the great tragedy.
Now 9 years later Aeneas and Ecuo have become 17 and are ready to face the world once more and remake name for the great Quintus Ennius family. Where Aeneas choose to remain in his birth land of Ibladesh to serve the great lords who live there and make name for himself and his family Ecuo decided to sail of to a different continent to gain experience there. He landed in the nation of Carelia on Atamara.

Family Mansion in Castle ubent
After the Quintus Ennius family, or what was left of it, was forced to move out they choose Castle ubent as their new home. It was unwise though to go directly to the castle and live their they decided to move further to the mountains and live there. So they did, Sycheus had brought several peasants with him on his journey to the region lord and he brought them to Castle ubent as well. They quickly began to collect rocks from the mountains and wood from the area. At first the Mansion looked poor, but at least they had a roof over their head. Now after 9 years the mansion looks great again, nicely made and carved stones from the mountains combined with he wood and a lot of labour created a fine mansion again. Sycheus was happy he brought the peasants with him. Now Sycheus resides in the mansion on his own together with the few peasants he brought at the original journey. While not a great castle yet it is still nice to behold and perhaps one day if the family grows so will the mansion.
