The Great Family/Xanio

A chronicle of Xanio the Great's life.

Early Life

Xanio was born in Axzaloc, Talerium to noble parents. It was here he spent most of his early life playing in sand dunes, listening to stories, and learning of his rich heritage. His first language was the sacred language of The Word, learning Taleri at the age of 5. His height at the age of 3 was average. Around this time, his father left to travel the world. Xanio would occasionally travel with him, learning more of his heritage and cementing an undying love for his father. His half-brother Torsaan was born around the age of six. After that time, Xanio began to stay with his mother in Rotherthorpe more often.

Middle Childhood to the Teenage Years

From the ages of 7-13, Xanio was schooled at some of the finest institutions first in Drachenwald, then in Cagilan Empire where he learned the common speak. After graduating, Xanio refused to pursue higher education. His father let him loose in the deserts of Quetli to fend for himself. Needless to say, a sick and hungry Xanio turned up in Chocxal, begging for forgiveness. It was then he started to grow at an incredible pace. Xanio attended a university in York for 3 years. For the next 4 years, Xanio travelled with his father, meeting his half-brother Karibash and forming a deep friendship. He stayed in the volatile SEI for 2 years. Xanio was rushed from SEI, back to Atamara after he killed a man who tried to extort money from Karibash. He lived in the desert with his grandfather visting his mother and Torsaan periodically. After his grandfather died, Xanio went to live with his mother. It was there he decided to take up a career in the Ithilian Military, in the same tradition as his ancestors.

In Minas Ithil

Xanio took up his career just as the war against Abington was swinging into action. Xanio can vividly recall the long march to Wayburg. Arriving there, Xanio got his first taste of war and loved it. Xanio joined the colony of Kybcyell, eager to bring the destruction of Abington. This never happened, Wayburg being seiged for almost a month. In that time, Xanio garnered a reputation that has hasn't faded yet, in some eyes as an arrogant, loud-mouthed, and ignorant pleb, and in other eyes as a fearless warrior who will stand for anything he believes in. Xanio made a few friends in Wayburg, Tolandruth, Ivore, Chief Steward Hottori, and Fredrich to name a few. Wayburg fell while Xanio was in prison. He was captured after trying to make a stand by assaulting the TO unit. Xanio promised that he would take Magnus the Mighty's axe, Ginstr, from him one day.

In ASI

After Wayburg fell, Xanio joined ASI seeking to continue the war. By then Xanio had a deep dislike for Abington. He participated in numerous battles, mostly in Worav and Wynford. Xanio's greatest success was during a battle in Wynford, though he lost the battle Xanio paraded up and down the battlefield shouting obscenties towards Abington. Countess Mia of Sudfern called out Xanio, claiming him to be discriminatory towards women, and a coward. She challenged Xanio to a duel numerous times with Xanio finally accepting. The duel took place as the sun rose, with Xanio showing off his style to a great extent, wounding Mia. Though afterwards Xanio was captured by Abington patrols that Mia had cowardly tipped off. After the war concluded, Xanio was unhappy. He enjoyed his new and old friends in ASI, but something called him. Xanio left ASI, to go back to his desert home of Talerium.

In Talerium and the centralization of The Word

Xanio joined Talerium, enjoying peace in his homelands. His brother Torsaan met up with him, arriving from the distant lands of Beluaterra. Xanio and Bertie Shikshiena centralized The Word, opening the first true temple in Mapaxal. Xanio became Kargnchha, the highest leader, with Bertie being made Kargnch in gratitude for his contributions. Xanio died in Amdor, fighting in a war he never agreed with.

Other

Xanio enjoys war, debating, and a variety of sports. His favourite two are football (soccer) and cricce (cricket). Xanio also is an avid carpenter, and an able blacksmith. He does prefer carpentry though. He had a love interest, Ancelin Merry.
