I was going back and reading the archives today, when I ran across this article. It is now nearly six months after it was written, and after nearly six months of full turns. It is interesting to note that this article talks about many different planned religions, and mentions Sanguis Astroism with the comment "..I have yet to see any evidence indicating it has any support...". After six months of play on Dwilight, Sanguis Astroism is the only formally established religion on the island. (No, I'm not counting the very recently founded branch of the FEI-based Magna Aenilia Ecclesia in Poryatown that seems to have been a desperate ploy of Kaennji Shenron to not have Verus Luria destroyed by Pian en Luries. Perhaps if it ever spreads beyond it's founding region, it could be considered a serious religion for Dwilight.)

What happened to all of these other religions? I know that Tom put the kibosh on the Blood Cult for Dwilight, citing that the South American flavor didn't fit the Dwilight theme. (It re-established itself on Beluaterra, anyway.) Perhaps the same thing happened with the pseudo-religion of Soken? I know that Tom is not particularly thrilled with non-deity-centric eastern mysticism as a medieval religion. It just seems odd that with such a fertile field for the founding of religions, and their chance to get established early and thus gain a strong foothold in the history of the world, that none of them have actually been founded. --Indirik 17:56, 26 June 2008 (CEST)

Well, someone's just joined Pian en Luries claiming to be a devout follower of the One God, which I think I've heard of somewhere, and Alanna's trying to get something more out of him... There's also another religion being planned in Pian, somewhat related to Yggdrasili on BT. --Anaris 21:23, 26 June 2008 (CEST)
We've seen people in Astrum supposedly trying to found a religion based on the "Mad God", apparently tied to the failed Avenel. Maybe the same as the "One God" you are mentioning? Personally, I'd rather see new religions founded, rather than knock-offs of religions founded on other islands. --Indirik 03:41, 27 June 2008 (CEST)
Yea, I know... Dwilight was perfect for religions... Oh well, I guess daimons will just have to depopulate Belu even further... Kill off the rest of these stagnating established religions. -Chénier 07:42, 27 June 2008 (CEST)
I think there are at least 3 different people who want to establish their own religion/theocracies in Madina. 1 is based on lilwolf's religion in Atamara. nowt clue about the other two. --Fodder 08:48, 27 June 2008 (CEST)
But why haven't any of them actually done it? I'm really curious. A brand new island, no established religion at all, so no competition. You could easily become a powerhouse religion if you get in on the ground floor. If you wait a year, then you have more competition as you try and get people to convert from something else. --Indirik 14:39, 27 June 2008 (CEST)
That's simple. No more colonisation from Madina for a while. (and a few people go off to found a theorcracy colony just to see it die after a little while makes no sense) Also I ain't appointing anyone to lordship of newly conquered imperial regions just to found a religion, unless the religion makes sense to me. (I don't think I have said as much though)... of course, the duke(s) can still appoint if he/they wish. Just because everyone and their dog want to make a realm/religion/etc does not mean it makes sense to do so. No offence to them. I am still of the opinion that it should not require holding lordship to found religions, but that's a different topic.--Fodder 15:50, 27 June 2008 (CEST)
Killing off the "stagnating established religions" won't do any good. People have shown an amazing lack of originality in BattleMaster. They tend to just reform the same old thing. Destroy Tuchanon? We'll just make Tuchannon II! (And III, and IV, and V...) Sometimes they just change the name a little bit: Grehk/Old Grehk/Neo Grehk, Rancagua/Old Rancagua, Avamar/Avamar Selective, Fontan/Light of Fountain/Confederacy of Fontan, etc. Look at Magna Aenilia Ecclesia. They formed a new branch on Dwilight, without changing the name even a little bit. (No, I don't know if the guy who founded it on Dwilight has anything at all to do with the branch on FEI.) It's just disappointing. All this opportunity to be new and unique, and people just break out the photocopier... --Indirik 14:39, 27 June 2008 (CEST)
People are notoriously good at photocopying. [sarcasm] I mean, coming up with something completely new requires far too much work. Why should anyone who plays a free game ever have to do so much work? [/sarcasm] --Kag 22:46, 27 June 2008 (CEST)
