Domus duchy cedes to Perdan 29 January 1014 After a long and lengthy siege the takeover of Domus has been cut short as the duke of the region Franklin Mercer has ceded his duchy into the hands of the Perdanese. The only remaining region to walk with him in joining Caligus' current enemy was the war-torn region of Supra. It's uncertain at this time whether this was a planned or spontaneous move. Battle after battle has been happening over the last few days as Sirion and Caligus forces desperately tried to push Perdan and it's allies out of the region with no success. It certainly doesn't change the outcome of Domus' control but it does speed up the process and allow the alliance to use the walls. Meanwhile in Westmoor it has been noticed that Nivemus has begone amassing on the border between Gadlock and Bruck. Nivemus troops have also been spotted south in Caligan lands participating in battles so it is clear where they stand. It is possible that Nivemus intends to begin an invasion of Westmoor. They have already begun building up militia in Oberndorf. With Domus now out of the picture this will take the center of any fighting away from the south and into the north. In other news Duke Atanamir was indeed elected as the new King of Perdan a few days back in a ceremony held in the then Caligan capitol of Domus.  Fierce fighting on the streets of Domus 25 January 1014 Today in the early hours the siege of Domus began. The southern alliance of Perdan Fallangard and Perleone had put together an army over four thousand men strong to assault a force less than half that size behind the level five walls of the capitol of Caligus. The Southern alliance were quickly able to storm the walls but it was the late cavalry charge of Sirion and Caligus which succeeded throwing back the attackers from the walls and giving a victory to Caligus and Sirion. Over 80 siege engines were used and caused considerable damage to the walls reducing them by one level. During this battle General Didymus La Pointe of Sirion gave his life in defense of the city. He will be surely missed amongst Sirion's ranks. Soon after the first battle had ended extra reinforcements for the Southern alliance arrived and the army was able to regroup and prepare for a second battle in which they were victorious. It remains to be seen whether the government in Caligus will be able to recruit enough new troops to push the alliance out of their capitol. Perdan is currently without a ruler after King Nightmare was wounded during the battle. Duke and treasurer Atanamir of Umbar is expected to be crowned King of Perdan for the second time as King Nightmare is said to not be interested in reigning again at present.  Duke Erik Eyolf Serpentis to marry his daughter 23 January 1014 Duke Erik Eyolf after just building the largest temple in the north for some dirty pagan religion is holding an extravagant wedding celebration to consummate the love between himself and his daughter Serria. About six days ago sir Erik wrote to all members of the ECDA with the following dispatch: Dear drinkers, Since my hope in humanity is dying, I decided to marry my own daughter Serria to perpetuate our pure blood and our lineage as the northern warlords. I know many of you still want to come to Avamar with swords and war machines, but until then, you're invited to come or to send your dignitaries in peace. The marriage will happen in some days in my city, at the largest temple of Sirion. After that, we will celebrate in my guild and taverns of the entire Red District. If you still remember what celebration and respect are, be my guest. Erik Eyolf Serpentis Duke of Avamar The wedding festivities which began yesterday are said to be very extravagant. Now of course most of the representatives of the southern realms will not be able to be present due to the war between Caligus, Sirion and the human alliance. Duke Erik has therefore undertaken to take criminals out of the jails of Avamar for the day and dress them up to look like nobles of the southern realms who weren't able to be present. The vast temple is considered to be a wedding gift to his new bride. Many congratulations were given from members of many different realms in the ECDA. According to some traders who were recently in Sirion city the smell of Ikrif could be recognized quite noticeably in the air even though the city of Avamar was several hundred miles away.  End of Nivemus and Obsidian Islander's war 6 January 1014 The war between the Obsidian Islanders and Nivemus has come to an end with the signing of the treaty of Kazan. The obsidian islanders have agreed to hand over the region of Gadlock to Nivemus along with a number of guaranties relating to third party use of lands. Nivemus is clearly determined that in future realms such as Perdan won't be using OI as a base of operations to attack them as they have done in the past. In the treaty third party realms are not allowed to march through allied territory to attack other realms. Territorially this is a small gain for Nivemus but one they will be proud of in any case. To celebrate the end of the war OI's emperor has called for a tournament to be held in Kalmar. The emperor wrote the following address: Esteemed Rulers of the East Continent, I am proud to announce a tournament of Swordfighting and Jousting that will take place in the Obsidian Island capital of Kalmar 9 days from now. This tournament is to celebrate the Signing of the Kazan Accord which has brought to an end the war between Nivemus and the Obsidian Islands. Furthermore the Obsidian Islands would like to dedicate this tournament to the lives of the brave warriors of both Nivemus and the Obsidian Islands that gave everything on the battlefield serving their realm. There will be a charge of 10 gold for every participant. The winner will be rewarded with 1200 gold in addition to the honour and prestige that his victory will earn him. There will also be a reward of 600 gold for the second best. All nobles of the continent are welcome on the tournament grounds on the day of this event.
