News spread around the rural region of Qubel of Black Bowie's ascendancy to the Lordship. Many nobles were confused and disturbed that such a creature could be trusted with a title, but at the same time they realized that no one could stop him. They were told by archers from the Black Arrows that so long as he was not provoked, insulted or betrayed, they would be safe.

Then a messenger gathered the people of a small village next to the Count's estate for a public address. The demon himself appeared and stood raised a bit higher than the crowd. The crowd hushed as he raised his hands, palms out.

"Qubelii, I have been entrusted with the title of Count of your lands. Know who I am and what I am. Then, realize you are now going to be the greatest peasantry in all of D'Hara. This is not empty words.

I am required to make an oath to Duke Hexic, but since my arrival in this realm I have never once sworn service to anyone, not even to the Old Bat when her fat butt stil sat on the throne. I am a Prince, I do not kneel to lesser nobles. I am the master of myself! However, I am willing to make a deal with Duke Hexic with you all as witnesses. So long as Duke Hexic allows me the freedom to control this region and its knights as I please, with a tax share favourable to us, then I will maintain Qubel as a prosperous source of food for the Lighthouse and D'Hara. If not, than he can expect commotion.

On the matter of taxes. I have noticed that Qubel is the only region paying a share to the duchy. This I will seek to change. Our economic base is still infant and not able to provide for others. Why must they demand from us? That will be my first affair as your Count.

From this day forward, I will be known by a different moniker. No more shall you disrespect me in calling me Black Bowie. I am now to be known as the Dark Count!

I have spoken!"
