Jessamine "Jaz" of House Haruka currently serves as a Countess of Clermont in the duchy of House Grathe in the realm Perleone.
Origin
The first-born child of the deVries, Jaz had an isolated childhood in the Stormlands of Dwilight.
When she was nine summers old, her family's connections to the late Lady Haruka were revealed. She and her younger twin sisters were left with a minor noble in Mimer. After her parents were assassinated, the noble separated the daughters, selling her to a man in the East Continent.
For the next several years, she was forced to work as a child laborer in Shadowdale on a fishing boat. It was a miserable existence that fostered in her a seed of rage. At age 16, she decapitated her master and escaped, but not before commissioning a portrait of herself with the slain man's head.
Over the next four years, Jaz attempted to learn more about her family's origins. Her only hint was a letter written in BlóðesfylleÞ given to her by her parents, which led her to claim her noble origins and discover her connection to Lady Haruka.
Career
At age 20, Jaz began her career as a warrior in Perleone, where she originally served as a Dame of Ar Mosul. She immediately was swept up in the bitter war against Perdan. While en route to a battle in Clermont, she came face to face with several hordes of monsters, which she defeated alone but not without enduring wounds.
Her efforts impressed Duke Andreas Greybrook, who appointed her Countess of the newly acquired Clermont.
Appearance and Character
Like all the daughters of House Haruka, Jaz is of slight stature and has flaming red hair. She was wounded by monsters in Al Aquabah's Fields of Death, leaving her with minor scarring on her left shoulder.
She takes her duty exceptionally seriously and endeavors to have a military career. However, her temper can often get the better of her.
