April Toren Rebellion:

9 Cavalry decimated at Little Big Cirannor

Kail in Taselakian hands
2 May 2007 (Cirannor) by Lynsey Habap
As predicted, Kail is now back in Taselakian hands. Toren troops are apparently attempting to foment rebellion in Lesthem, though one would expect them to order a full retreat to Toren Stronghold rather promptly, as Taselakian forces are now free to punish them for their insolence. Rumors have even been heard that Ikalak will temporarily take possession of Toren's eastern provinces to prevent the free-ranging Taselakian Army from siezing them.

Dark days for the theocracy, indeed. Perhaps when Averyll is the only one left in Toren, she will be granted her wish of having no dissent in the cold castle.

A treaty broken
2 May 2007 (Belus) by Lynsey Habap
With the takeover of Eraus and Moeth as well as the takeover being attempted in Kheif, Ikalak appears to have broken the treaty between Toren and Ikalak. Of course, one expects that the leadership of Toren fully agreed to this, as they have demonstrated an inability to hold their own against Taselakian forces.

With the Ikalakan takeovers, Toren had managed to retake Kail, the loss of which had cut off most of their realm from the capital. One wonders about the growth of independence movements reported in the more distant regions of their realm.

Toren has apparently admitted to their ally that they cannot fulfill their end of the bargain, set back in October, some six months ago. Assuming Toren survives longer than Taselak, will Ikalak feel any obligation to turn over those regions to their weak sister before driving them into the ground?

Kail dangling
2 May 2007 (Belus) by Lynsey Habap
In recent weeks, with the Sisters (Seggelin and Lesthem) firmly in the hands of Taselak, the region which gets traded back and forth between Toren and Taselak is now Kail. The initial loss of this region led Toren to allow Ikalak to default on the treaty between the two realms, but that does not seem to have prevented Taselak from working to regain the region.
