Classic defeat in detail
10 April 2007 (Neralle) by Lynsey Habap
In a classic example of a defeat in detail, four nobles and their troops from Taselak encountered and routed a larger force of Toren leaders and troops augmented by angry peasants in Kail. The Toren troops were fleeing from a recent defeat in Neralle and trying to avoid battle. With more than half of their forces starting out at the back of the formation and out of range of the fight, Toren forces met the Taselakians piece-meal. The peasants and three of the smaller infantry units suffered mightily while facing the united Taselakian troops. By the time the other half of the Toren forces reached the fight, they faced those units nearly alone. Thus, despite facing greater numbers of enemy troops, Taselak's forces triumphed, defeating small details of the Toren forces in turn to win the battle.

The Sisters back in Taselak hands
10 April 2007 (Neralle) by Lynsey Habap
Once again, the Sisters (Seggelin and Lesthem) are returned to Taselak hands. Despite the best efforts of Karibash the Loud, Averyll "The Butcher of Lesthem" Arete and Sir Hackem the Suicidal, victory for Toren continues to be elusive.

Recent battles have been the scene of utter destruction of Toren forces, with numbers only favoring Toren once (which resulted in a severe loss anyway). After the last battle in Lesthem, simple Toren troop leaders even expressed their dismay over their leaders action aloud, whilst the two armies collected their wounded, sharing words as well as drinks.

Neralle, Too?
10 April 2007 (Neralle) by Lynsey Habap
Peasants in Neralle appear to be growing weary of Toren rule and are being swayed by the swords of Taselak. Just as in prior takeover attempts in Kail, the confidence of Toren nobility might be shaken if the region falls into our hands. Word of discontent among Toren nobles is widespread, as the Toren Reform Party grows in numbers with no corresponding "pro-government" party in existence. Without the confidence of the nobility, it is hard to imagine the current administration surviving yet another setback.
