Background
Little is known about the Sigurthr family and less so about its only known member Bailyhn. What conclusions that can be drawn are gathered from the various bits and pieces of information heard in discussion. The family's name "Sigurthr” is derived from old Norse word “sigurdr”, meaning “guardian of victory”. It is believed this name is an allusion to the long lineage of Norse warriors. It also alludes to where the family comes from, although the far white North is all that is known now. The family motto is
