Adopted into the family at an early age, Roderick has always felt somewhat outcast from the rest of the family and always needed to be the best to prove that he wasn't a burden. Since he and Fredrich are nearly the same age, the rivalry between them was greater than with anyone else. So, when Fredrich went off to join Minas Ithil in the war against Eston, Roderick knew that he needed to do one better. He gathered his things and set off from the family mansion towards the East Continent where the near constant warfare would allow him to prove his worth.
