Lasanar.png Countship of Isular

For some time Isular was in the hands of Menelmereth, but she became Dushess of Colasan after a while. After her some other knights were it's local lord. After Doyle seceded from Lasanar, Isular joined the new realm of "Colasan" but was handed back after Doyle was gone. On 2007-01-20 William was appointed it's new Count. At some point, Gregor Eyolf Serpentis became its Count when Papania ruled the land. He was followed by Maurus, who oversaw the transition of Isular to an Arcaean province following the breakup of Papania.

A few isolated villages dot the plains of Isular. Most of them built around inns for traders on the route between Colasan, Ozrat and Topenah. The countess' estate is located just adjacent to the only town, which takes the same name as the region. The chief export of Isular is grain, while cattle graze on lands not suitable for crop. Hunting of the small animals and birds provides a small amount of food but is mostly done as a passtime by nobility.

Gregor Eyolf Serpentis

A few isolated villages dot the plains of Isular. Most of them built around inns for traders on the route between Colasan, Ozrat and Ossaet. The Count’s estate is located just adjacent to the only town, which takes the same name as the region. In the town is also located the only recruitment center: these are the standard recruit of Isular, their ranks are composed of hunters who are skilled with the bow and some minor nobility. These men are provided with adequate armour but are only armed with their hunting bows.

The chief export of Isular is grain, while cattle graze on lands not suitable for crop. Hunting of the small animals and birds provides a small amount of food but is mostly done as a past-time by nobility. The landscape is wide and slightly hilly. There is much horse breeding and export to Anaos that always seems to have a shortage. Some underground mining is also done extracting metals from the earth. Isulars favorite dish is a sheep's milk cheese cake. It is commonly called Isular Pie.

In the heart of Isular, among the farms, is the primitive temple of Adgharhinism: a large circle of stones with an altar in the interior. After each harvest the workers and the population meet to commemorate and thank the gods for the good crop.

The return of Anatole Malkavian

Villages are spread throughout the region Isular, some have seen many winters, others are frontier settlements growing every day. Isular is a crossroad, its main roads leading to the realms of Cathay, Ohnar West, Arcaea and Greater Aenilia. As such it has seen many caravans passing through and has served as trading post and as place of rest for several merchants, travellers and adventurers.

From the days of former Lasanar, Isular's people have followed a tradition based on hunting and cattle herding. They are expert huntsmen and able trackers, virtues that have not gone unnoticed by the military and as such the Causa Mortis legion draws its drafting rectuits from the number of Isular's residents willing to join the army. They wield sturdy longbows and short swords while they are donned in chain shirts and steel caps.

The area exports grain, timber and cattles for the large plains of Isular are feeding grounds for an ample number of livestock. Isular is also famous for the Nymph's Glade which is a well known hunting ground thoughout the Far East. Nobles from every corner of the continent visit the region to take part in the Hunting Fest, a festivity organized four times within the year.

During Lasanar's days the Count resided within his ancient estate, widely known as the Stonghold. When the last heir of House Malkavian left the realm, the Stronghold was left unattended and soon it went lost withing the depths of Isular's valley. A new tower was built on the top of a cliff around which Isular's main town resided. Upon Anatole Malkavian's return to the lands of the Far East and his reinstetament as Count of Isular, the Stronghold was repaired, expanded and through foreign and exotic architecture, upgraded and restored to its former glory. Its high walls are said to protect those within from any harm, but there are those among Isular's residents that whisper that the walls are to keep the Count Anatole confided, when his madness takes over.

Mounted Squires

Though their charge is not as feared as that of a well trained knight, the Mounted Squires ranks come from those aspiring to be the future Knights of Lasanar. Relatively well armoured and carrying a long spear, when in large enough numbers their charge can break even the most stalwart of enemy ranks.
