Fenrigson had followed a lead from Rasillian, and battled his way through several groups of undead, before finally encountering a Large Undead Army, huddled inside the barbican in Menedor. What their motives where, who could tell, but undead armies, lying in barbicans, lead by a champion, that's just bad business. Fenrigson knew what had to be done, he must make the undead more dead than un, and that's what he set about doing. As his blade cleaved through rank after rank of mottled flesh, the dismembered, disemboweled, debrained corpses that had been zombies lay in a devastated swath of wrecked flesh. Next the flat of his blade and pommel served to dislocate the bones of the skeleton guards, slamming blow after slamming blow sending reverberations of pain through his spine. Then the skellies were dust as well. A large shadow hulked in the background, it's wing tips almost reaching the top of the wall. Clutched in it's hands was a black bound leather (at least he hoped it was leather) book. The creature was staring so intently at the runes engraved on it's pages, that it never even saw the fatal blow delivered by our erstwhile adventurer and maker of undead more dead than un, person. With a hideous shriek, and a feotid odor, the batwinged, dragonbodied, betentacled abomination, diminished from sight, seemingly vanishing into the angles between the high wall and the uneven floor. Fenrigson shuddered as he picked up the book, dropped in haste as the monstrosity disappeared, he shuddered, because he could unmistakeably hear the thing still shrieking, with an inordinate amount of echoe, an unholy clamor that reverberated and echoed as if in an immense cavern. Fenrigson slammed the book closed, and the shrieking ceased. He knew he must get the book to someone wizer than himself. He would present it to King Lazlo, and whether to utilize it or destroy it would be up to him.
