On this page, and it's related talk page (click on the "discussion" tab, like any other page), everyone can talk to the editors, ask questions or propose his ideas. We are very open to new ideas and always grateful for any support. Do remember, however, that our time available is limited. Please check if your idea is already being discussed, or has been discussed in the past and rejected.

Current Proposals

  • Please post in list form. If you can describe the idea in a few sentences, put it all here.
  • For Meta:Complicated Ideas, write a short summary and link to a page where you outline it all. Make sure that page is in the Meta: namespace.

FRP - Frequently Rejected Proposals

Some stuff that you really shouldn't bother to propose again, because we've rejected it already, and so often that we stopped counting:

Falasan Inquirer February issue

Could the February issue of the Falasan Inquirer be reverted back to the "# (cur) (last) 23:56, March 17, 2007 RubyDragon" version? I'm still working on a new style for it that I want to keep somewhat hidden until the release of the next few articles, I was checking the syntax for mistakes when I accidently clicked "Save Page" instead of "Show Preview"...thanks :) --RubyDragon 07:38, 18 March 2007 (CET)

The1exile helped me fix it, thank you very much :) --RubyDragon 08:14, 18 March 2007 (CET)

Abington Vandalism

User:Darfix seems to be vandalizing the Abington page. It appears he has a character who is in Minas Ithil, which apparently is at war with Abington. AlexTurner 01:11, 29 August 2006 (CEST)

And he appears to be an editor. /me cowers in fear. AlexTurner 01:27, 29 August 2006 (CEST)
Darfix's character had a vendetta against Abington since long before the war, and his animosity has skirted the border with OOC on multiple occasions in the past. --Anaris 03:49, 29 August 2006 (CEST)

Manual

The link in the manual to "Messages" points to a page on the (obviously not so secret) CombatMaster project about messages which is not helpful for newcomers tryiong to get to grips with the system, and is pretty confusing anyway. Should probably be moved and a new page made, but not sure what. Editors? --The1exile 20:22, 8 October 2006 (CEST)

Fixed it myself (to a certain extent, anyway), finally. --The1exile 20:22, 5 November 2007 (CET)

Adopt-an-Orphan Page

I noticed that we have 910+ orphaned pages. Is this worth cleaning up and is it worth getting the community involved by promoting an "Adopt an Orphan(ed Page) Day". Maybe push the various nations to clear up and/or claim the various orphans out there. -- Baatarsaikhan 19:55, 5 November 2007 (CET)

Interesting suggestion. Orphaned pages are not, in and of themselves, necessarily bad things, however - the wiki doesn't take into account if they;re used for in game linking.
If you feel like going through the list and picking out truly useless ones, stick them on the Meta:Delete Request page and they'll probably be dealt with. --The1exile 20:22, 5 November 2007 (CET)
I'm mildly concerned about being heavy-handed though, in making delete suggestions (I do recognize that they won't be deleted just because I put them up for it) as I wouldn't want to spam the deletion list. Also, I would figure from a quick glance at these all that there's likely some merit to most of them. I would figure the pages about the Ancient Chain Mail of Whahoonie and such would go into the Unique items pages, while the Abington stuff would be better suited linked to the Abington page. I don't, however, want to go stomping onto the appropriate pages and just toss edits about. Any guidelines that you'd recommend for these issues? Maybe just dropping the appropriate page as a link into the Talk page for the overall subject... -- Baatarsaikhan 23:43, 5 November 2007 (CET)
That would probably be a good start, if you feel like helping out. Don't worry too much about being heavy handed, though - if you do something wrong, it's easy to revert to an earlier version. --The1exile 05:55, 6 November 2007 (CET)

Giblot Gestapo Gazette

The editors of this page have been asked on more than one occasion to change this name, but have not. For the time being, I have changed it to "Giblot Gazette". I would make the following arguments for a permanent change:

-- The pure offensiveness of its name -- The completely non-medieval, OOC term -- The possibility that the name is illegal in Germany, where the server is hosted.

Sue me. I don't subscribe to the Nazi hype. --Tom 13:27, 19 January 2008 (CET)

Your game. Can I call my unit the "Bomber Harris Boys"?

If it makes you feel happy. I wouldn't think "Bomber" is medieval and that's what I'd more likely complain about in the GGG, but I'm tired of this "it's probably illegal in Germany" crap. Very few things are actually illegal. Much is frowned upon, but the Swastika and the SS runes are about the only Nazi symbols that are actually illegal to use, except in historical context (e.g. history books, etc.) --Tom 10:47, 20 January 2008 (CET)
The swastika isn't illegal. It is (was) actually a powerfull spiritual symbol for various faiths and cultures throught history. It was only since the Nazi party swiped it and defiled it's use that it got such a bad reputation. Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika. -Balewind
Balewind, read up a little. Using the Swastika is illegal in Germany except for some exceptions (history, or if you use it to very clearly distance yourself from Nazis, such as some anti-Nazi groups using a crossed-out Swastika). I could search for the proper law, but I'm too lazy. I did, however, google up a few pages with the details before posting the comment above. Google for "illegal nazi symbols" or something likee that and you should find them as well. --Tom 15:38, 20 January 2008 (CET)

Mass deletion

I've deleted a bunch of blanked out pages off the wiki using Special:shortpages to find most of 'em. Tried to avoid deleting anything that shouldn't have been blanked, but there wasn't much.

If I have made a mistake and something needs to be restored, let me know and I'll fix it. --The1exile 19:21, 7 March 2008 (CET)

Disrespectful Use of Religious Material

I just removed some images that were being used badly out of context. I believe the user was being careless, and not mean-spirited. Besides being rude, there were connotations that some would consider very offensive. The images on the page were clearly “borrowed” from a large number of web pages. While copyright owners usually don't care, some of them might in this case.

I hope editor intervention is not required (it should not be). I felt you aught to be informed. I recommend keeping an eye on the situation. --Slaadslayer 23:33, 29 May 2008 (CEST)
