Originally known as the deVries, the Haruka house descends from the Stormlands of Northnastrond. Though the details are hazy, family legend traces their origins back to Haruka Vanimedle, the most holy ForÞwíf Heofonþrym of the ancient kingdom of Thulsoma.

Ancient Origins

After Haruka Vanimedle's banishment from Arcachon by Judge and Duke Cerber DeRouen and subsequent exile to the Dark Isle, allegedly, the previous Holy Legate Of Adagha became involved with a local Coralynthian knight, Ser Arend deVrie. The affair was kept quiet and never legitimized.

Not long after, Haruka was banished once again, this time from the Dark Isle. While Haruka set out on a spiritual journey to procure rare Anglo Saxon relics, Ser Arend emigrated with their illegitimate children to her ancestral home in the Stormlands. After finding the Anglo Saxon Chronicles, Haruka soon followed, bringing with her the Knights of the Holy Iron Chains and other zealots.

Once in Thulsoma, Haruka once again took center stage as a political and spiritual leader. Her meteoric rise to infamy and prestige was aided by the unrest among the nobles in Old Thulsoma, which allowed her to lead its Saxon reformation. Meanwhile, the deVries quietly lived in the nearby countryside, having limited to no contact with the newly crowned ForÞwíf Heofonþrym.

As tensions between Haruka and Sangius Astroism grew, the deVries kept their distance even more ardently. By the time Haruka was eventually assassinated, the House had quashed any rumors of their relations to the late Haruka for their own protection.

Generations later, the connection was exposed once again through unknown sources. The three youngest daughters—Jessamine "Jaz," Evangeline, and Geraldine—were sent to Mimer for their own protection. They were immediately separated and scattered to the corners of the globe, cut off from their history and one another.

Separation of the Daughters

When Jaz was nine summers old and Evangeline and Geraldine six, the deVries' connection to Haruka Vanimedle was discovered. The daughters were sent to stay with a minor noble in Mimer, who was believed to be a trusted ally. Mere days later, the girls' parents were gruesomely assassinated. In a panic, the noble caring for the daughters betrayed them all, selling Jaz to a master in the East Continent and turning Evangeline and Geraldine loose in the streets.

Due to their young age and the trauma of the separation, only Jaz has any recollection of their childhood in the Stormlands.

Name Change to Haruka

Each daughter, through her own devices, has discovered their House's rumored connection to the late Lady Haruka and has incorporated her name into their own.

Religion & Virtues

Traditionally, the deVries adhere to the Anglo Saxon Virtues and follow the teachings of the Hrēdmōnath. However, Evangeline and Geraldine both have no recollection of this.

Today, Evangeline is a full member of Sanguis Astroism.
