Origin
CORALYNTH, the crown jewel of the Arcaean empire was born within the ruins of Archachon on the Dark Isle, across the Straight of Unotosa from the mainland of the Far East. After the fall of Archachon, the entire island fell into a barbaric state that had to be reintroduced to civilization. The rebuilding and development of the Coralynthian culture still continues to this day, but nears completion.
Geography
Coralynth is an island kingdom, north of the mainland across the Straight of Unotasa in the northern most region of the Far East. Coralynth is blessed with rich farmlands, woodlands, fisheries and hunting grounds. All of its regions with the exception of the capital Enlod are coastal regions.
Religion
The official religion of Coralynth is Sartanism, the worship of Sartan, the God of War. The vast majority of the population are Sartanists, and most regions in Coralynth have a temple built in their region.
Government
King/Queen
The King of Coralynth is the soveriegn ruler of the kingdom. The King is elected from among the nobles of Coralynth by a popular vote, and serves for life, or until they retire.
Lord/Lady Protector
The Lord Protector is the supreme military authority of Coralynth, tasked with the security and defense of the kingdom. The Lord Protector oversees the army and issues orders to the Marshal and Vice Marshal. The position is appointed by the King.
Imperial Magistrate
The Imperial Magistrate is the Judge of Coralynth, tasked with enforcing the laws of the kingdom, and meting out punishments for infractions. The Imperial Magistrate is elected among the nobles of Coralynth and serves for life, unless he voluntarily retires from the position.
Imperial Chancellor
The Imperial Chancellor of Coralynth is charged with managing the proper distribution of food throughout the realm. The position is appointed by the King.
History
Reign of King Azgath
King Azgath was the first king and founder of Coralynth.
Azgath Cyrith began is career in Sartania before becoming King of Sartania several years later. He relinquished the throne and ruled several other regions of Sartania, before being elected their general. He briefly joined the realm of Cathay, before leaving and joining the realm of Soliferum, where he was elected their ruler for a brief period.
Azgath then joined the realm of NeoSartania with the hope of reviving old Sartania, where he was soon elected their ruler, before stepping down to become the general of NeoSartania. Several months later he was elected ruler of NeoSartania for the last time.
When NeoSartania finally faced destruction during an invasion, Azgath was forced to abandon NeoSartania and join Arcaea. He was Lord of Athios for a time, before seceding from Arcaea and founding the realm of Coralynth. He was banned from Arcaea for a short time, before signing a treaty with Arcaea that admitted Coralynth as a member of the Arcaean Empire, and secured the right of Coralynth to exist for as long as Arcaea remained the superpower of the Far East.
He ruled Coralynth for several years, marching south to aid Arcaea against her enemies. He recognized a young female knight by the name of Eva Ji'Ardan, selected her to lead his armies against Ohnar West. Together they stormed Sasrhas and forced the surrender of their long time enemy.
Reign of Queen Eva
Coralynth, now at peace with all her neighbors, entered a long period of calm and security. King Azgath stepped down from the throne in his 88th year, and left to spend the remainder of his days in peace with his family. Lord Animus would have been the natural choice to be the next king, but instead he urged Lady Eva to run in his place, which she did and eventually won.
Queen Eva continued the work King Azgath had started, growing and shaping Enlod into a bustling city, and securing the peace against all threats. She has marched south to aid the Empire in their struggle against the Free Realms, defeating them time and time again.
To celebrate the completion of the repairs in Enlod and Soniel, the Queen set about hosting a tournament, and to get the realms at war to agree to a temporary ceasefire so that all could participate. But due to a mix up in the scheduling of the tournament, the Free Realms did not have enough time to arrive, so none of the warring parties stopped their fighting and the poor attendance for the tournament was a public embarrassment for the queen, and regarded by many as her first misstep since ascending to the throne.
