Asker is a bustling place full of trade. Located between Wetham and Portion, lots of merchantile traffic goes through the region, especially along the river. With a high population combined with the trade goods going through, Asker is a rich area.

Home to several recruitment centers of note, Asker can provide for war as well as trade. It boasts the Seabiscuit Cavs (a well trained Cavalry center), the Askers Light Footmen, and the Asker Swordsmen. The last two are Infantry centers, and they compete with each other to produce the best soldier, though they arguably the same in skill.

Geography

The largest part of Asker belongs to the Frundi Waste. This inhospitable land does not allow for a large population and is home to families herding fat tail sheep. It does, however, have one large town: Namrath is the traditional capital of the province and requires food import to sustain itself. This town was founded during the initial colonization by Wetham. During this colonization Lorebass McBlathery was tasked with organizing defences on the border with the Corali Forest. This resulted in the fortfied town of Blathery and earned him the barony of Frundi.

In the southeast one can find Asker Proper, a fertile swat of land, which is home to most of Akser's towns: Felix, Forseti and Vidara. This part sees plenty of food due to farming and fishing, but profits especially from trade and manufacturing. During the recolonization by Portion Egbert built a castle to secure the area and protect imports from Portion. He named the castle in honor of his deceased wife: Kenauborg. In the southwest was the town of Timothy, until its destruction by the undead. During the recolonization a castle was built to protect food imports from Adaria. It was named in honor of the viscount: Andreiborg.

History

Asker was colonized by Wetham and became the base of the southern army of the realm. Since the realm was focussed on fighting the Assassins in the north, Asker was know to be a peaceful place, seeing the local nobility more involved with trade than military affairs. This changed when Lukon defeated Portion and grew closer to the Assassins. After the destruction of Wetham, Asker became part of Lukon.

When Lukon expanded further north and reorganized the Duchy of Wetham, Asker once again became subservient to the city in the north. These days were again peaceful, because hostile powers would either focus on Wetham or Portion, allowing the province to remain unscathed by war. However, when Wetham collapsed to the undead, Asker became largely unpopulated - only the Asker Proper saw continued inhabitance, though on a much smaller scale.

When Leofric Black came with a plan to secure the region, Egbert Brennaborg immediately crossed the river to negotiate with the locals. The rest of the army first had to deal with a monster incursion in Adaria, but followed soon after. The locals felt confident in Portion's ability to carry out Leofric's plan and agreed to join the realm. Egbert and gave immediate orders to build the castles which would receive the names Kenauborg and Andreiborg.
