By Roxas Sypher War with Tara heats up July 28th

High Marshal Relkin has informed the realm of the end of the demilitarization agreement with Tara. The agreement had lead to a reduction in the forces our two realms had on the Lothruin-Chuca border. Since then troops have built up on both sides of the border. The Taran army has been joined by Cagilan Empire troops with scattered reports of more troops moving east.

While there have been no battles yet, the York Journal expects that they are not far off. The conflict remains the only one in Atamara. The Journal is left to wonder what other realms might choose to involve themselves in this war?

By Roxas Sypher Minas Ithil-Norland Peace Treaty July 22th

A peace treaty has been signed between Norland and Minas Ithil.

-Minas Ithil recognizes Norland’s sovereign claim over Ashmoor, Shiverwood, Brackhead, Hernepoole.

-Norland recognizes the sovereign claim of all regions south of and including Winwich, Dunstoke, Rotherthorpe, and York that are held by Minas Ithil at the time of this treaty signing.

-Norland recognizes Mansbridge as Ithilian, but Mansbridge is to remain a demilitarized zone. Demilitarized is defined as, in Mansbridge as no more than 1000 CS in militia, and no more than 1000 CS in troops accompanied by nobles. If the amount of either goes over 10% more than these levels without prior consent from the current Norland Konungr for more than 36 hours, the treaty can be voided by Norland.

-No war will be waged between Norland and Minas Ithil for a period of four or six months.

-Minas Ithil will not support, monetarily, any realm that wages war against Norland during the period of this treaty.

-Mansbridge is to remain as part of Minas Ithil, all other borders remain in place. Mansbridge will be returned to Norland upon an agreement of an “alliance” or higher is reached between Minas Ithil and Norland, and will be done within four weeks time.

-Minas Ithil will only allow The Way of the Hammer priests from Norland to preach in Minas Ithil lands with the local lord's consent.

-Minas Ithil will not give permission to any realm to pass through her lands with the intent to attack Norland.

-Norland will not give permission to any realm to pass through her lands with the intent to attack Minas Ithil.

By Roxas Sypher The Tara-Cagilan Empire Behemoth July 21th

Tara and Cagilan Empire are the only remaining Federation in Atamara. Connected to this Federation through a network of alliances is almost the entire island with three exceptions, Falasan, Norland, and Minas Ithil. Falasan is a shell of its former greatness, with only the small city of Barad Gardor and its surrounding regions. Norland is starving to death and has a meager nine thousand citizens (Falasan has more than twenty seven thousand people for comparison). This leaves only Minas Ithil, the only realm of any size not connected to the Tara-Cagilan Empire Behemoth.

The result of all this is peace on Atamara. Sure, Minas Ithil and Tara are at war, but the border has been quiet. Coria is also at war with Minas Ithil but the most we've seen from them is a lonely troopleader in Chuca. Minas Ithil might as well be at peace with both realms, it would be the same as it is now. So, we at the York Journal congratulate you Tara and Cagilan Empire. You have managed to do what no one else has in the memory of this paper and perhaps long before, Atamara is at peace.

By Roxas Sypher King Ramil Aldarion July 12th

Ramil Aldarion was crowned King of Minas Ithil today. The King has picked Relkin Sypher, who is recovering from an assassin's attack, to be High Marshal once again and lead the armies of Minas Ithil. King Ramil Aldarion's family hails from the city of Leohampton. He has previously served as Marshal of the Leohampton Legion and as an Ambassador for the realm.

By Roxas Sypher War with Coria July 2nd

Queen Katherine and the leaders of Atamara:

After deliberations with the Corian Senate, the Cabinet and our allies we have declared war upon Minas Ithil. The hostile stance of Magna Serpaentism from the earlier conflicts during our founding has not been remedied. We are joining with our allies already at war with MI to force the surrender or complete removal of the MS organization from Atamara.

Sincerely,

Lachlan MacDuff Head Magistrate of Coria

By Roxas Sypher Summary of the summer thus far July 2nd

During June Tara and Caergoth attacked Minas Ithil and defeated the armies present there. Minas Ithil rallied in Shanandoah and then attacked the few remaining troops from Tara that remained in Lothruin after Tara and Caergoth withdrew. From then on the borders between Tara and Minas Ithil remained highly guarded until High Marshal Relkin announced that he had come to an agreement with Tara's General to draw down forces on the border temporarily.

Darka and Talerium's armies moved in on Norland driving the regions surrounding Brackhead rogue not long after Norland finally managed to reclaim them. There are slighly more than 15 thousand people left in the city of Brackhead as of July 2nd. Word reaching Minas Ithil is that the people continue to either starve or flee the city as food is scarce. Minas Ithil along with the other realms surrounding Norland have agreed to ceasefires with Norland.

In mid-june, a tournament was held in Icegate. Arthas Westfall (Knight of Dampinn, Suville) won the sword fighting competition, with El Cid Testaverde (Knight of Ser'quea, Carelia) coming in second place.
