Series of victories for Minas Ithil

Minas Ithil has been seen many successes in the last few days repelling multiple attacks by the Northern Federation. The Duchy armies repelled both Eston and Norland in Elost while some of the other armies hunt down Barony raiding parties in the York duchy.
Our King has appointed Marshal Malcor Devereaux of the York's Elite Army to Field Marshal. The Field Marshal became the Marshal of the York Elite when Lord Relkin Sypher stepped down from the position to become High Marshal. The York journal is proud to have another from the duchy of York step up to lead the armies of Minas Ithil.
The Journal also recognizes former Field Marshal Francis, who lead our forces to many victories and the capture of Elost, Amriel, Barad Riel(since lost to Eston), and Moramroth.
High Priest Anton has gone into seclusion and the faithful of Athonlaurism are now without the guidance of any priests. Some of the temples and shrines are falling apart as the people lose faith and the acolytes leave. Peasants are fickle and many will likely turn to new faiths such as Magna Serpaensism which has already found a large following in Minas Ithil. Some peasants in the western regions have also turned to the Venerable Order of the Citadel which has been preaching heavily in the captured city of Barad Riel.

A fallen hero remembered

Sir Zen Aurora (Knight of York, Minas Ithil) has been killed during the battle in Brackhead. He was a brave and young Knight, being only 18 years of age at the time of his death. He was a credit to his family, his Lord, his army, and his country. He had just recently been appointed to the post of Second In Command of the York Elite Army. His loss is a grievous blow to all Ithilians. He died on his feet facing the enemy, as true knight of the realm. His sacrifice has set a shining example for us all to follow. His courageous sacrifice will not be forgotten and he will be AVENGED!
In celebration of one year of the York Journal a redesign of our paper is forthcoming. We will reveal the new design in our next issue.

Rest of Northern Federation joins the War

Without warning Eston attacked Barad Riel in the first days of this month. The City defenders fought bravely but were soon outnumbered by the full might of the Eston armies. Looting and battles in the city have swept the city as the people of the city resist attempts to bring the city under the iron fist of Eston. Nearly four thousand peasants are reported dead by some estimates. Most of the noblility of the city and the Duke of Barad Riel have escaped the patrols and made their way back to the interior regions. On the dawn of the fifth day of the takeover, Eston has completed their brutal takeover of the city.
This act of war has caused our King to declare war on Eston. Meanwhile, the Tyrant Sordnez declared war and sent the Makarian Horde to loot and takeover Moramroth. Thus, our fair realm finds itself under attack by the combined forces of the entire Northern Federation.
