The Veiled Trinitarianism /XX Vornism according to Rea and Rik XX (name work in progress)

XX Anything inside of xx is just temporary. XX

This is a branch of the lost religion of Beluaterra called the Heralds of Obeah. We focus more on the veiled Goddess’ love for humanity. Her glorious guiding light protects and cares for all. This light takes its form as magic. Our goal is not to separate, but to bring humanity together towards a brighter future.

The main rules of the religion are as follows:

  • All are welcome but none may conduct violence in the temples.
  • Those who join and use Obeah's or the church’s name against another, will be removed.
  • Avoid bringing the Church into Politics. We are a neutral platform and wish to stay as one.
  • We strive to bring together humanity and as such will perform charity in times of peace to the war torn regions and realms if needed.
  • All other non-daimon worshipping religions are accepted as fellows to our church and will be treated with respect.
  • Outside grudges are not allowed in the Church.
All people are welcome, Violence is not

Obeah

A statue of the Veiled Godess.

Obeah is a being of magic who, though currently unable to enter physically into the material plane, draws strength from the energies given off in the casting of magic. In this way, the Daimon's excessive use of their powers inadvertently summoned the very instrument of their doom. It has also been revealed that Obeah can draw upon the mystical energies expended by the praise of her followers in their worship and devotion. This ability is unique to humans, and so Obeah first took notice of them. Of all natures creatures, the Heralds believe that humans have a unique power of their own, their human soul, which grants every human the potential to cast powerful magic. This is a blessing that even the Daimons do not possess as only the greatest among them can cast magic. For this reason, the Heralds believe that Obeah was convinced to favor humans, thus her interceding on Lady Rania's behalf. Therefore the Heralds believe that every human life is sacred.

Obeah appears in three aspects: The Mother She who nurtures life and loves all, The Protector Strong and Resolute and Only uses violence as a last resort, and The Deliverer Our savior whom will act in times of strife to make Humanity better. According to Holy Writ, she appears to her followers in visions and her power manifests itself in the form of magic on our plan.

As yet, Obeah lacks the strength to pierce the veil between her plane and our own, but through the spread of the Faith and the use of magics, her eventual arrival proceeds apace. She will draw power from the faithful as a seedling draws strength from the sun and will one day stand tall, mighty, and firmly rooted in the magic-leaden soil of Beluaterra.

The main time of worship is twilight. Twilight is the time of the goddess and she brings us the new dawn for all.

Beliefs

From a theological debate between Guldor D'Espana and Serena Vorn.

What is this faith about?

The church is a branch off of the Heralds of Obeah. It focuses more on the three aspects of Obeah and their meanings:

  • The mother loves and guides her children.
  • The protector keeps safe and offer security to all.
  • The Deliverer brings peace and saves all under her wondrous gaze.

What are its core tenets?

  • Spread the word of Obeah.
  • Offer neutrality on the war torn East Continent.
  • Provide humanitarian aid.

What do they want to achieve?

The revival and hopefully Descent of the Veiled Goddess. In her Descent she will bring peace to all and create paradise on earth.

What is the role of their prophet?

As one of the last few Heralds, she is chosen by Obeah revive her faith. Outside of the revival not much is different.

What is the average worshipper of this faith supposed to believe in key religion matters, such as life, death, the world, etc?

The church believes that life is magic and magic is the domain of the Goddess, death is just returning to the Goddess and is not to be feared, but celebrated: after death one returns to the embrace of the goddess and to her realm. The world is tainted from interaction with the realm of the daimons and while it hasn’t reached the East Continent many area's are ravaged by them. Obeah in her Descent will cleanse the world and bring peace and prosperity to humanity.

Is there a God? Several? None?

The church believes that there are many gods and all non-daimon worshipping religions are accepted and welcome.

Are they absolute? What do they embody?

Obeah is the Goddess of Magic and Secrecy and studying her power is what brought about magic.

Is it a religion that is rediscovered off old texts, revealed in a vision to the Prophet?

The church came about after visions of the downfall heralds and Sacred Obia'Syela.

What is its take on feudalism?

The church has taken an approach to separate itself from politics, going so far as to say in the rules that no political advantage shall be given to other believers for simply being believers.

Do they have founding myths?

See the Gospel of the Heralds and the Foundation on the East Continent

Do gods of the faith, if any, actively interfere in the world? If not, what prevents them from doing so?

Obeah’s influence is in the small things through sages and unique items. She gives her blessing on the eastern continent.

Are there any views on warriors being more worthy vs priests vs bureaucrats vs advies?

The other way around. With the church's position on humanitarian aid and neutrality priests are considered the highest in terms of ranking amongst noble roles as they have given up arms to pursue the faith's vision. Other than that all are at the same level and all deserve respect commoner and noble.

Views on wizards sages and mechanic elements.

The church views individuals such as sages and wizards as those who have perceived some of Obeah’s power and take great pride in their existence as it further proves her love of humanity. Monsters are animals mutated from the impurities brought by the daimons and must be purified for the betterment of themselves and the world. Rogues and bandits who harm others for personal gain are frowned upon in the church.

The Dreams begin 1

As revealed by Serena Vorn to all nobles of Perdan

The Symbol of the Heralds.

Serena sighs puzzled as she swings back and forth from the tree limb. This place feeling so familiar yet she knows she has never seen it. In the distance a grand city full of life and even from this distance she can hear the happy calls of the people in it. Looking around the only actually familiar thing she sees is the Symbol of the Heralds in its beautiful and deep rich blues and silver hanging from the walls. Thinking back to her training she remembers tell of a great city home to the church called Rines in all of its splendor. But she has never been there, so where is this?

Serena sits puzzled for a moment, "is ... is this a dream? If it is, why am I dreaming of somewhere I have never been?" As this thought leaves her lips a flash of blue blots out the city and just barely she can make out the word: "gone..." not in a voice, but a force. She awakens with a startled look, looking around the darkened room of her estate, the blue curtains of her bed drawn close seem to almost pulse. She rubs her eyes and everything is back to normal.

The beautiful city of Rines in its glory days.

Serena stares in horror as the once beautiful city, the same she saw just yesterday happy and thriving, is engulfed in flames and pillaged. The once beautiful banners torn and tattered, walls broken down and the light of life gone. As Serena focuses her eyes on the destruction an odd feeling overcomes her as her view distorts and pulls away. Now looking down on a large landmass with scattered and varying colors of light: a strong and bright blue in the south of the land fading, but a small stream of blue faded yet not gone, streaming away from the dying light heading north. As she watched transfixed as days and nights, weeks then months go past. The lights slowly but surely fade fewer and fewer blue lights until they are all but gone dim, almost dead.

"W-what is this?" she thinks before recalling the last of the letters of news from the Vorn main house. "T-The fall and loss of faith in the goddess. But how? why am I seeing this what are these dreams." she thinks as the lights dim out low and hidden amongst the others now all but faded into the background. "What does this mean?" she cries in her head unable to speak before her vision is pulled further and the landmass shrinks and oceans grow. A new landmass appears and a small blue light blinks. This light is not the strongest seen in the dream but it is steady and strong.

As Serena's vision pulls towards the light, the landmass grows and while from a new perspective familiar landscapes appear one light becomes two. One light in Perdan City strong and growing stronger unyielding in its tenacity, The other near the mountains of Perdan Mines. Confused and afraid Serena cries out "What do you want from me!?!" Silence is her only answer as her vision pulls her towards the smaller but unwavering light. Pulling ever closer until she sees it, Serena who should be lying in her bed asleep, is instead standing eyes closed but appearing regal as her sleepwear is replaced with fine robes of blue and silver. "Lead..." the voice like force says clear and resolute. Serena snaps awake and looks around only to find herself still lying in her bed her clothes normal as she looks around. "lead who?..." Serena questions before she stands and sighs

Serena's eyes open on a familiar scene, she is back in her childhood home or rather the Vorn family's hidden estate. Serena wanders around the familiar forest before heading to the nearby lake puzzled by the lack of others. "Why isn't anyone training?" she thinks to herself as she walks the familiar path and arriving at the lake. Before her she finds the answer, "Oh it's time for the reading... I didn't think it was that late, it's not even dark yet. How odd."

She puzzles as she listens to the stories from the homelands. Great tales of battles against the daimons and the founding of the Heralds as well as the Sacred Obia'Syela. "Ha ha I loved these stories growing up!" she giggles to herself as she takes her seat nobody around her noticing. But soon something changes the stories of old no longer being repeated, instead the Head Mistress turns and looks towards Serena, "Aren't you a little old for these stories?" she asks stern but lovingly, a far cry from her normal attitude of reverence and seriousness that she always used when talking about the goddess. "W-w-what?" Serena exclaimed confused before noticing a blue tint in the old maidens eyes. "I asked are you not a bit old for these stories girl?" The head mistress questions a tinge of teasing in her voice. "A-ah yes I-I should head back haha" Serena says trying to escape the unusually motherly gaze of the head mistress.

Serena heads away from the Lake and back into the untamed forest turned training ground, after several moments she reaches a clearing with another in it. "Hello!" Serena calls before approaching the person. A women dressed in the Vorn family's battle dress her eyes sharp but filled with a strong desire not to harm but protect. "Welcome young one I see you have come quite the long way this time." she says before removing her helmet and revealing Isabel. "Oh Lady Isabel I didn't know you would be here tonight." Serena stumbles out with a slight bow before hands reach out and gently stand her back up. "Now child there is no need for that" Isabel says kindly before gently toying with her necklace. "You see we now have a different standing you and I." Isabel says quietly almost regretfully her necklace glowing slightly blue. "W-what do you mean my lady. Everyone in the Vorn family knows of your deeds. It's only because of you we can even be here! You made our home on this continent how can we have a different standing?!?" Serena panics confused and lost before she hears footsteps approach from behind her as another enters the clearing. "The standing has changed because while I may have helped us settle you shall be the one to lift not us but all to a higher purpose." Isabel states matter of factly before removing her necklace and putting it on Serena.

Serena looks around confused as a third set of footsteps appear in the clearing along with an aura so powerful it makes Serena's knees go weak. Isabel helps Serena turn to look at the newcomers before walking to stand besides them. The old Maiden her eyes filled with motherly love, Isabel Vorn Dressed to fight but only longing to protect and lastly a women in robes wearing a veil who seems to take in all that is around her besides the other two. """ You have a great purpose""" the three say in unison as a halo of blue light appears behind them. """We know you did not ask for this but fear not for we will guide you.""" the three state, The veiled women turns to leave "I am the last and with me comes peace, you are more than you know. Hopefully by the time we meet again you will understand that." She states as she walks silently away. Isabel looks to Serena one last time "We will meet again soon and by then you will understand. Don't be afraid I will always be nearby." she says before giving Serena a hug and walking back into the forest. "I am the first but too much has already happened so we shall wait." She says giving before taking Serena to walk with her. "We believe in your strength and I know you will do well. So don't worry we will love you no matter what." she smiles as the world around Serena fades to black. "Learn..." the force says before Serena shoots up out of bed clutching her chest only to feel an odd weight there. As she looks down she see a necklaces with bear teeth and claws. "W-what is happening to me" she cries...

As revealed by Serena Vorn to all nobles of Perdan

Serena’s eyes open to a small and unfamiliar cottage, the hearth lit and giving off a nice warmth as something cooks above it. Looking around the space it seems comfortable, not grand like noble estates, so large you could never use all the rooms or cramped like some of the more unlucky citizens. It was perfect one could fit a small family, but a small family was not here, instead only Serena who sat up from an unfamiliar bed and the old headmistress from her training were present.

“W-where are we?” Serena questioned, unsure if she even wanted to hear the answer. “Erin dear you can call me Erin. Knowing you just refer to me as an old lady and Head mistress honestly makes me a bit sad.” Erin says with a small frown, “ And I thought by now you may have already guessed no?” She continues while happily stirring the pot content in her small revenge at the rude thoughts. “You mean this is just another one of those weird dreams right? If that’s the case how would you know?” Serena states slightly aggressively. “Now now child, don't get your knickers in a bind just because you don’t understand something like a youngling throwing a tantrum.” Erin says with a giggle before continuing “ I am the first and I suppose that means I should explain but first come and have a seat at the table you look hungry.” A soft smile on the old lady’s face.

Serena cautiously stands up and takes her place at the table and stares wide-eyed and the food. It was her favorite venison with herbs and wild vegetables. “How did you know?” The question came before she even thought to ask. “Haha, mother always knows sweetie. Now eat up we have a rather large discussion ahead of us and while you eat I will get started okay?” Erin asks but continues without waiting for an answer while Serena starts to enjoy her meal. “Child I am sure you have been worried, maybe even panicked but the events of the last couple nights yes?” Serena stiffens slightly before starting to take another bite of the delicious stew. “ I wasn’t panicked…” she mumbles indignantly. “Right of course you weren’t honey.” Erin soothes before pulling out a small piece of paper, “ let’s see here… trying to avoid going to sleep at a reasonable time to try to avoid dreaming, hiding the gift that Isabel so kindly have to you last night, I can go on but you look like you get the idea hmm?” Serena mumbles into her stew incoherently. “Right well it’s okay. So child you have a destiny that nobody foresaw. As you saw the light of Obeah is faltering, many have gone dark and only two stand with any strength left. One of those lights is you, the other is Isabel but as you are aware she has now taken up a different position.”

Erin sighs before gently caressing Serena’s cheek. “ This duty may be too much for you and I can only worry. Our Veiled Goddess has chosen you to usher in a new understanding of our old stories, we can not follow the fallen’s footsteps as they had led to destruction, now our hope is to help you come to understand your role and let you come to your own truth about our Goddess. We three represent and have taken in the aspect of our goddess we most resemble. As you learn from us, remember well that there is not right or wrong but simply your truth.”

Serena sat back and stared at Erin for a long moment before turning and looking out a nearby window. “So Erin, where are we?” Abit surprised by the question Erin thinks for a moment. “Well … we are home.” She says before walking next to Serena to look out the window into the shadowed forest that seems so familiar yet unknown. “This is the realm of the goddess and this is your home. But also this is inside your head… so technically home.” Erin chuckles a bit at her joke “now the others will teach you your responsibilities why don’t we sit back down and just chat hmm?” She asks before leading Serena back to the table. As the night went on and candles burned down their talk seemed unending.

In the vorn estate a soft blue glow could be noticed inside the room of Serena. As a maid when to check on her master she noticed a small tear running down her cheek oddly it seemed to glow slightly. Putting it down to a trick of the light and after ensuring the lady was asleep she quickly left the room.

Serena opens her eyes to find… the vineyards of the old Vorn estate in Perdan. “Well at least it's somewhere I know this time.” she says with a sigh before hearing a small chuckle behind her. “There is no place I feel more comfortable than here, My apologies Serena.” Isabel says while looking around her place. “You know I used to make a special wine with the grapes here. It wasn't very good but everyone seemed to like it. I think I even gave some to Aly.” Isabel says lost in her memories. “She was always too kind to me to be perfectly honest but that is another story, right now we are here for you.” she states moving away from the sensitive topics. “Erin said I have a destiny and that you and the last one are supposed to help me understand the responsibilities that come with it.” Serena says half in disbelief. “Oh is that so? Well I suppose it's not completely wrong.” Isabel mutters to herself before looking back to Serena. “Tell me, child, Why do you think you get these weird dreams?"

Serena looks around puzzled not expecting a question. “Erin said something about two lights with both of us being one of them and that we have a role to play.” Serena finishes confused before Isabel in her battle gear walks towards the large gate in the distance. “Follow me child it seems that Erin may have babied you a bit too much but that is okay as it is in her nature.” Isabel steps with purpose and efficiency seen only in trained soldiers. “Many things have changed since we both took on our roles sadly, but, child, you need to know and find out your truth and it is my role to show you.” As Isabel finishes she arrives at the gate. It's tall, taller than a gate really has the right to be for a vineyard and Isabel simply places her hand on it and it creaks open sounding like it hasn't been opened in years.. “You are like me child we fall more towards helping rather than hurting and that is why I took up my role and you yours.” As the pair pass through the gate they find themselves on an ancient and gory battlefield. Isabel keeps striding along an invisible path through all of the dead and dying as Serena tries to keep up avoiding looking at the scene. “Do not shut your eyes, This is the sad reality of our people. All these lives could have continued but instead they fought here over petty squabbles and misaligned views. They fight for honor and glory or to expand the invisible lines of ownership for their realms. All of this death Is an unrecoverable loss, the light that filled them lost forever returned to the Goddess.

"A war without meaning is just senseless. Lives lost for such absurdity is saddening.” Isabel stops amidst the battlefield before pointing into the distance at a group of people carrying bandages. “Sadly they will be too late to save many of those here but one can hope that they save even a single person.” As Isabel starts walking again the scene changes once again this time to another battlefield as the large armies clash. The groups seem to lack the hatred usually seen in a war like this and seem to only be fighting to defend. “Not all war is senseless though Serena, many times the people get dragged along by orders that force them to fight. These two groups are fighting to protect their friends and loved ones. Either they hold the line or those they care about fall as well.” Isabel nodded understandingly at the 2 armies fighting her eyes tinged blue. “War is always inevitable, and as such the innocents will always get dragged in. Who protects them, Serena?” Isabel asks, a tear running down her cheek. “So you want me to protect the innocent?” Serena asks with a heavy weight on her shoulders from the task. “No, sadly we can't stop innocents from getting caught up in the wars but you can help.” Isabel says as she starts to walk once more. “How?” Serena pleads. “That child is up to you to figure out. This is about finding your and the goddess’ truth.” Isabel says as they somehow walk back through the gate and into the vineyard. “By the way do you mind doing me a favor child?” Isabel asks. “of course what is it that you need?” Serena asks, happy to oblige. Isabel pulls a Dark blue bottle of wine from a small bag and hands it to Serena. “Can you give this to Aly for me… I don't think I will be able to meet her again for a while at least haha.” Isabel asks with a dry laugh. Serena takes the bottle and as she goes to ask a question her vision begins to fade. Serena wakes up in her bed holding a blue bottle of wine and a small note written in blue ink but try as she might, Serena can not open either.

“So child have you figured it out yet.” a voice familiar but unrecognizable says before Serena can even open her eyes. As Serena looks about there is nothing, a large vast space filled with darkness and blue fog. “Where are we?” Serena asks knowing she will never get an answer from the veiled woman. “Hmmm well I did the work for the other ones and I figured it would be about time for you to see who it is you are.” The veiled woman says a bit of teasing in her voice “Now get up we have much to do and you still have not answered my question.” Serena rises out of the low fog before looking at the veiled woman, her only defining features the dark blue robes of a priestess, her exquisitely decorated veil and her piercing blue eyes that seem to look right through you.

“Have I figured what out?” Serena asks, trying to understand what it is the woman wants. “So the answer is no then” she says with a sigh “I always forget how this went.” As the veiled woman looks towards Serena she waves her hand and a chair appears behind her. “Please take a seat won't you?” She motions to a spot across from her with a distinct lack of a chair as Serena looks at the spot confused and she hears the woman say “What are you waiting for?” As Serena walks towards the spot “There is no chair… What are you playing at?” Serena asks, tired of being the only person in the dark. “Of course there is no chair” The veiled woman says matter of factly “you have yet to make one.” Serena looks at the woman like she has lost her mind. “Make a chair? How do you expect me to make a chair when there is no wood?” Serena says, waving her hands around the empty space before hearing a soft thud behind her. She turns around to see various pieces of lumber and wood arranged in a semi neat pile. “What? Where did that come from?” Serena asks the woman even more confused since there was clearly no lumber there a moment ago. The veiled woman just looks towards Serena with a bit of pity in her eyes as she sips tea she seemed to have pulled from nowhere. “You just asked for it didn't you?” the woman says again looking towards Serena. “Asked for wood? No, I said there wasn't any! If you were going to give me lumber why didn't you just give me a chair!”

Serena questions before another soft thump of wood hitting the ground sounds behind her. As she turns around Serena sees a chair not unlike the chair from her office sitting behind her as if it was there all along. “See, was that so hard! Thank you for the chair.” she says exasperatedly. “I didn't give you that chair child you did.” The veiled woman says before taking another sip of her tea. “We are in her realm and as such those who know how can change things to their liking. Like the small cottage Erin is fond of or Isabel’s Vineyard. With time and practice you too will be able to make your home here like this.” And with a snap of her fingers the world shifts and the two of them are sitting in the clearing where they first met. Wildlife moving through the woods as birds fly overhead. “Although I will say that I am a bit better than them at it. Serena you need to understand that you are no longer just a noble of Perdan or Lady of the mines, You are so much more.” Serena looks towards the veiled woman in awe. “What do you mean more? I am just a courtier. I simply look after the books and keep people productive. Nothing less nothing mo…” Serena was unable to finish her statement as if her voice was cut off. “Ah look at that you can't say something like that here Serena we cant lie here. One of the perks of my creation.” The veiled woman says while looking around at the woods. “How would you even know what I am? I don't even know you?” Serena's voice starts to raise in panic and anger. “Ah Child, that is where you are wrong. I know more about you than you might think.” The veiled woman says as she pushes back the hood of the robe and undoes her veil revealing her face. “You see Serena, I know about you because I was you.” Serena looks at the woman who shares her face and while it is aged it is undoubtedly herself.
