The Emarama family were born of Melias in Eston. They always keep a look out on the welfare of both and those who seek to harm either would be wise to reconsider. In contrast, those who aid Melias or Eston will find the Emarama to be firm friends.

Those looking for reasons to justify this connection with the region and realm often cite the family's most commonly followed Warrior Saint within their faith. As with the current head of the family, Kealan Emarama, the favoured Warrior saint is often Saint Haral

It is often thought that Kealan perhaps would have followed in his father's footsteps in following Saint Valmyre, had King Andrew been on the throne at the time of Kealan's ascendancy into adulthood. Perhaps the Duke spares a little thought for both, as they both seem to fit his ideals perfectly.

Through seeking to keep his faith from being driven out of Eston by the over ambitious Duke Basil (who was a member of, and kin to the leader a rival Eston state religion), Kealan was promoted to the rank of Righteous Inquisitor within the faith, by the then Carnifex Templar Maladek, and charged with becoming the political voice of the faith in Eston. With the unfortunate disappearance of Maladek a few years later, Kealan found himself being automatically appointed to the position of Carnifex Templar. It is a responsibility that he takes very seriously and has seen many more arguments with Duke Basil. It has to be said that politics regarding the Warrior Saints, while never entirely simple, have become many, many times simpler with the demise of Duke Basil and his rival faith.

It is known for certain however, that Duke Kealan's younger sister, Luka Emarama, Marshal over the Army of the Citadel, did follow in her father's footsteps in following Saint Valmyre. It was indeed to be the proudest and most daunting day in her life thus far, when she was given command the army based out of Hawthorne. Hawthorne, as any Emarama will tell you, is the true Capital of Eston.
