One thing I've thought we should have since infiltrators were first introduced to the game is the ability to intercept messages. Maybe not necessarily only for infiltrators, but it makes the most sense for them (at least now).

I can see several different ways to work it. I think that the best way to select *which* messages would be to either take a certain percent (dependent on skill) of, or all, messages sent to or from nobles in the region the infiltrator is in.

  • Intercept for a certain amount of time--spend X hours and for that amount of time from when you spend it (assuming you're still in the region), you can intercept continuously (awkward because it mixes real-time with turn-time)
  • Intercept for a turn--like hunting, spend X hours, and don't do anything that would break you out of it, and you can intercept continuously for the entire turn (may be too powerful)
  • Steal some past messages--more like other infiltrator actions, have low/med/high risk options, getting different amounts of messages from the past X amount of time, much like torture, but, again, for messages sent to or from nobles in the region (may require too complex changes to the message system)
  • Auto-intercept--as skill increases, infiltrators will start automatically receiving messages that were not meant for them...amount increases with skill
