I wonder how'd you get the blank=default(Anonymus) in your template. I think I'll look it up, sounds like an interesting thing to have. -Chénier 04:57, 12 October 2007 (CEST)

When you write a substitution value into a template, you can provide an alternate to be used if the value is not provided by the writer, like this:
Written by {{{author|anonymous}}}
Produces this:
    • author = Writer
      • Written by Writer
    • author =
      • Written by anonymous
You can even leave out the entire "author = " line, and the default value will be used instead.

Yeah, I noticed, didn't know about default values. But won't the default values about date be possibly confusing for when people submit the articles without defining all the variables? Just a thought, since it's unproper use anyways. -Chénier 15:06, 12 October 2007 (CEST)

Yes, they will. The defaults for the dates are substitution variables. They should be replaced by the actual values when the page is saved. But if the values aren't actually typed into the page, there is nothing to be replaced, so they don't work... I'm still trying to see if there is any way to get around that. I'll just make the defaults blank. If they don't include the date values the article just won't have a date. So long as they use the "Write an article..." link on the main page, it will still be filed in the right place, and the proper talk page generated. --Indirik 17:06, 12 October 2007 (CEST)
The default values could be "(day)" and "(month)", perhaps in red or other colour to make them stand out so that they are hopefully corrected after creation, are anyone else can quickly spot it. -Chénier 15:53, 14 October 2007 (CEST)

My char Che DeVesta may be willing to contribute to the newspaper but it's not for sure...he's not really the writer type of char...and he may not end up in dwilight anyways --Rojo 05:49, 14 October 2007 (CEST)
