Nobles of Sirion,

I have some more thoughts to express on the current topic:

Few days ago there have been some discussions about how orders are making nobles feel like "footmen". Now, perhaps it was an exaggeration, but perhaps many share such feeling.

And I tell you, plain and simple, that there is not and never will be available for us a war against Fontan different from the one we are fighting now. If we want to keep fighting, know that this means another undefinite amount of time regulated by your marshal's bold and capitalized orders twice a day. A time for nothing but fight-ask for gold-refit-fight again. A time where a missed order will lead to the complete annihilation of your troops. A time where many activities will be either forbidden or impossible to accomplish because of lack of gold or time: few Lords will have the time to take care of the regions, no recruitment centers will be created, no guilds will be founded, no training will be possible, no tournaments held. Even simple travel will be impossible: how many of you have ever been to Skezard, Blaastambar, Glinmar, Hillmar, Elmbar? I have my family manor in Elmbar and I have been there not more than twice since I took arms against Fontan. I have almost forgotten how my aunt looks like (but do not tell her!). If we really want to keep fighting, we must keep in mind we will renounce to all this possibilities. It's up to us to choose.

Of course we cannot simply quit fighting. We all know how important is warfare in a noble life. But there are different wars, and know that, against Fontan, there is nothing between peace and total war, there is no war during which we can still be free to do what we want. It will continue to be a war of complete commitment and nothing else. Our prime minister promised us other wars, and I trust him. I am not afraid of ending up in a life of civil works, as we are full of opportunities.

Dear friends of OR, we have not forgotten what we promised you. But in turn you promised us that the creation of OR would not have been at Sirion's expenses. And believing that the way to realize your dream is continuing the fight against the Sultan now that they have 3 allies is a strategic mistake.

Conquering and pacifying enough regions surrounding Oroya to be able to create a self-sufficient realm there is simply impossible at the moment. Years will be necessay, along with the withdrawal of at least OI and Westmoor from the war, or their annihilation.

Perhaps you expected a more warmongering point of view from your General, and I apologize if I disappointed you. But not all warriors aim to blood, glory and screams for their entire life.

Regards,

Sir Meristenzio Peristaltico

General of Sirion, Count of Lissambar, Marshal of the Army of Sirion.
