The Recruitment Process for New Members

So, a new noble wants to gain acceptance into the Army of the Glistening City? There is a process that must be followed for this, it is not just come in and be accepted. Notice that this is not to discourage people from joining the Army. This period of time is for those who are not completely sure that this is the Army for them. It prevents questioning new members from getting involved in something they don't want to be in. This just makes the whole process easier for everyone.

So, the following laws apply:

  • If a new noble wants to observe the Army, they may make a statement to the current Lieutenant of the Army
  • The Lieutenant shall then make a public statement to the Army and to the knight's liege upon their declaration of interest
  • The prospect shall then be given the rank of "Recruit" and given the benefits that are incurred therefore

From that point they will have a trial period within the Army for seven days, or precisely fourteen turns

  • After the fourteenth turn they may:
  1. Take an oath and be given the rank of Knight
  2. Decline membership in the Army with no ill-effects
  3. Petition the Lieutenant for an extension of no more than four turns to make an official decision of one of the two above options
  • A new recruit shall not have any marks placed against them within the trial period, but they may undergo an official Court Martial if they are found to be detrimental to the content of the Army
  • A Recruit -must- make an official oath to the current Marshal of the Army. This is to be delegated by the Recruit but it must include a statement of observance to the laws and an oath to try to be an exemplary troop leader of Old Rancagua
