Red wears a cloak in the frozen north.

Realm: Thalmarkin
Former Marshal of the Eagles of Hope

Red Marlboro is the younger brother of Winston Marlboro, the house patrician. He is a military-minded individual with an undying loyalty for the empire that has protected his family since before his birth. With sandy, close-cropped hair and vibrant blue eyes, he might be handsome save for a bent nose, a sign of his martial upbringing. While his older sibling was born to take over the family, he was raised to defend their lands against anarchy and discord. His Foresworn are a handpicked, hand-trained unit of Irregulars that he uses as a battering ram to punch through enemy ranks so that he himself can meet enemy officers in battle.

Originally from Trassing, he found encouragement and patronage from Tzain Nikolai, the Viscount of Rauxod, and maintains a large agricultural estate there. Red's manor is a sprawling farmhouse with white stone walls and a black gabled roof. His servants are chiefly men of the fields, though he also has several accountants on hand to assist his lord with taxation of the surrounding populace. He has been known to invite guests from his own empire as well as allied nations to enjoy the hospitality of his home, provided they do not mistreat his house servants.

While he relishes glorious combat against a noble enemy, he is loathe to execute civilians, even rebels, seeing them as too weak-minded to understand that what they are doing is wrong. He much prefers to win their hearts and minds by exemplifying the nobility that he represents, trusting that even the underdeveloped mind of a commoner could learn from the example set by a true paragon.

After his brother Winston was wounded by a rival merchant's mercenaries in an ambush, and he had returned home to take control of the family while the true patriarch recovers from the attack. Unable to manage his estate in Rauxod, he relinquished his claim in case Tzain may find another knight to take his place, though he hopes to reclaim the title the moment his obligations end.

He was called away after receiving news of his cousin Benedicta's death in the faraway land of Thalmarkin. He sets sail to retrieve her body and reap a terrible harvest of vengeance upon her enemies, ignorant of the fact that only Daimons awaited him in the frozen north of Beluaterra. However, he learned fast, and is now Marshal of the very same army that his late cousin helped to lead. The days have begun to grow a little shorter as he moves into middle age, his heart a little colder. War approaches, and with steely resolve he will meet it.

He is known in some circles as the Blade of Rauxod, and in others the Butcher of Clyderlee.
