These surviving volumes illuminate the parasitic nature of the pretender, shedding light on its elusive origins and chilling modus operandi.

According to the texts, the pretender lurks in a dormant state, awaiting the demise of its current host. Once its host's life force fades away, the pretender springs to life, transforming the body into a mummified vessel.
