🌞

You make the decision to seek respite within the fortified confines of Jumeaux's house. With the key you acquired, you unlock the sturdy door and step inside. The house exudes an aura of security and strength, instilling a sense of comfort and reassurance within you. As you settle within its walls, you feel a renewed sense of protection, confident that this stronghold will provide a formidable defense against any potential threat, even the cunning pretender.

Fellow Soldiers,

I am finally healed from my serious wounds and am able to send messages once more. The recent string of murders is extremely concerning. You three are the only ones I know for sure are not the pretender. Galandric and Moria had a confrontation on the night of the first murder as I recall. And Galandric saw Celina on the night they witnessed Jeaumaux's murder. These are the only solid alibi's that have been established.

If you recall, the night of the second murder, when Lexis was killed, I was building traps in home and this was verified by Galandric.

These are witnessed and validated alibis. Nothing of the sort can be said for Rojak, Richard, or Hana. One of these three must be the pretender.

I have been unable to send messages for a week, so I was not able to report the night that the pretender attempted to hunt me. This was the very night after Galandric had witnessed me finishing my traps. This coincides with the night I was wounded. I had chose to sleep since I had some exhaustion stacks from building traps the night before and I was fortunate to escape death. There was no killing that night and this was just after I had been chosen to execute Njal. I found my traps triggered when I awoke and 2 clues left behind (blood and fur). I also recovered 2 clues from Samson's body yesterday during the day. I believe I saw Rojak and Galandric doing the same.

Rojak has no alibi for the day of Samson's murder. Just a rushed story given to Richard. Also Celina's relic detected SOME of the beast upon him (if not the whole thing). Is it possible he has developed some sort of protection from Celina's magic? Currently Rojak is my primary suspect with Richard right behind him. Good Galandric, you misunderstood about the time Rojak attacked me. This was during the day, not the night, when he assaulted me. The following night was the night of the first murder and Rojak is unaccounted for.

Things are getting grim. Perhaps its time we start to vote to execute anyone we don't know for sure is human. I would recommend we start with Rojak or Richard, then the other, then Hana. One of them is BOUND to be the damn beast. This means we may execute someone innocent, but is that price to pay worth not letting this thing escape and kill the rest of us? I think so, though I do not think so lightly. I just wish to see us survive before it succeeds in hunting us down one by one.

I absolutley refuse to leave my home at night. I have set another string of traps and it is the only place I feel safe while this thing is at its strongest. I am not well armed or a good fighter and I do not wish to risk my neck when I do not have any sort of magic weapon or armor to fight back.

I know what not what I will do this day yet, do any of you wish to do something together?

It is good to hear you have recovered from your wounds, I too have just recovered

from a wound delivered by an SA zealot.

Your explanation of Rojaks alibi does place him under particular suspicion, but what gives me even more pause is the clue that Moria got from the witch yesterday. If the Pretender can pass itself from host to host our entire current system for narrowing down suspects becomes far less reliable. Any unwitnessed murder could in fact be the Pretender killing it's old host and assuming a new one. This means we will need to look back at our record of alibis and question any that fell upon a period prior to a non-witnessed murder. Those people may have been confirmed innocent prior, but we have no way of knowing if the Pretender took up their identity afterward.

While this may on its face seem a daunting and dangerous precedent the good news is the witch also gave us several clues to help stay ahead of this. The biggest is that the Pretender must curse who it intends to occupy next at least 3 days prior to making a switch. I find it highly likely that the darkness Celina detected in Rojak a few days back was in fact the curse preparing one to become the next host. If that is the case Rojak may already have become the new host for the Pretender, and if not he will most likely have developed one of the strange powers the witch mentioned.

I think we should plan to vote for Rojak today. We have no good way of knowing whether the switch has been made and if he is currently the Pretender. Even if he isn't removing him cuts off a path of rebirth for the Pretender. I feel we should question him though and see if we can learn more about the curse and how it effects its victims. If Rojak is not the current Pretender learning more about this curse would help us immensely.

Those are some good points, I had overlooked Moria's testimony as I was

catching up on the events that passed while I was wounded. If it is possible for the Pretender to jump host, surely it must jump from living host to living host? If it were to jump from a dead or executed host then we are all doomed regardless. Perhaps it kills the host it jumps from when it finds a new vessel? That could mean any of the soldiers previously murdered whos deaths were not witnessed may have been the pretender.

And if the Pretender jumps from living host to living host without killing them, would not the previous host either have memories of their time as the pretender or a large gap of several days with no memory? This is a lot to consider.

I do agree with you on one account however, if Celina detected parts of the beast on Rojak, it could be the pretender was preparing him as its next host or even already incubating within him. What if the pretender WAS Samson and something in the graveyards killed him and/or triggered the pretender to jump hosts. Maybe the pretender decided to jump into Rojak and that is what killed or left Samson to die and it planted a fake memory in its new host to cover for itself when Rojak came across Richard?

There is a lot to unravel here.

One thing I can agree on though, is that we should vote to execute Rojak. He either is the new pretender or its next host. That is the only logical conclusion I can come to after reading what

Celina detected on him.

I'm pleased we have a chance here and I believe we're down to 50/50 between

Richard and Hana.

What I detected on Rojak was as if he'd had a brush with the creature or, as has ust been suggested, that it may be marking him for a future occupation.

My strong suggestion would be to vote for Richard to help save Rojak from becoming the host.

Ah, but what if executing Richard then triggers the pretender to take its new

host?

If that is the case Rojak is lost either way.

This is a hard decision. Has anyone had any strange interactions with these two? Both came away from the Graveyard where Samson's body was, and no body else saw what happened or was there when it occurred. Based on that information alone it should narrow it down to one of them.

Perhaps Rojak's brush with Richard in the graveyard was enough for him to leave what Celina's magic item detected? If thats the case then Richard may very well be the pretender. But will executing him save Rojak? I know he is a simple boy who thinks with his fist more than his brain but if he is innocent...

I dont know. They're both suspicious. But we need to come to consensus with a vote if we are to

have enough.

Glad to discuss this with you all. Another tidbit is that I have an amulet that will

A kind proposal Celina, but I am not sure we know enough at this point to risk

doing a Richard vote. We don't know how the Pretender moves from host to host, it could be able to do so into a cursed soul even if we succeed in executing it. If it can, executing Richard and leaving Rojak alive would just leave us unsure whether we got it or not until the creature killed again or didn't. By the time it did, it could have cursed another individual, and unless that person came forward and put their life on the line for us to quickly take out the Pretender we would be in bad shape. If we kill it's secondary host now in Rojak, we can guarantee the beasts death with any execution over the next 3 days.

Another major consideration we need to take into account here is the possibility of the Pretender to enlist it's cursed one as a sympathizer. If Rojak was cursed and the Pretender approached him to talk rather than kill it's not a far fetch to say it could convince him to work for it. With the facts revealed Rojak would essentially die when the Pretender dies and his identity assumed, all the Pretender would likely need to do is offer to let Rojak live in the end in order to have him turn on the rest of us. That would go a long way in explaining why he would randomly assault Tybalt the way he did, and some of his other actions. We really don't know enough about the curse to rule such things out.

If we want to do a Richard execution first I would support that, but if we do I would want to either execute Rojak after or confine him. If we give the Creature time to set up a new host we will be

in deep trouble.

Richard first, Rojak second.

I will explore the palace with Moria today, then I will sleep in my home tonight. I stayed up guarding myself in home last night and need to alleviate my exhaustion.

I can agree with this sentiment Tybalt. We can take Richard and then Rojak.

In the meantime, I have been considering Moria's word from the witch and have compared them to my own notes. According to the witch, the Pretender visited the market district on the fifth day. As luck happens I too was in the Market district that day. The only person I saw there at that time was Jumeaux. That could just be coincidence, as with his witnessed murder I don't see how he could have been the Pretender. Most likely there were more people there I just didn't see. This gave me an idea though that we could compare our notes for the first few days here in the city though and see if that reveals any patterns when compared to the Witches schedule for the Pretender.

On the first day, I visited the Market district and saw Kiran there.
On the second day, I slept due to being exhausted from stalking Kiran the night before, who had slept gingerly
On the third day I was wounded and slept
On the fourth day I was wounded and slept
On the fifth day, I visited the Market district and saw Jumeaux there

While slumbering in Jumeaux's house, you find yourself ensnared in a peculiar dream. In this unsettling vision, you assume the role of a stalker, attempting to pursue Richard. However, your movements are clumsy and uncoordinated, as if you lack control over your own body. A hazy fog clouds your thoughts, impairing your cognitive abilities.

Persisting in your awkward endeavor, you stumble towards Richard's residence, your limbs feeling rigid and difficult to maneuver. As Richard emerges from his house, he wears a disapproving expression, clearly unimpressed by your feeble attempts at stalking him. Seizing your wrist to impede your escape, he appears taken aback by a startling discovery. He conducts a thorough examination, stripping away your black cloak to reveal an ominous hole at the back of your skull. Uttering a gasp of surprise, he confiscates your belongings, leaving you devoid of any possessions.

Resolute in his actions, Richard retreats into his dwelling, returning with a shovel in hand. With a swift and forceful swing, he strikes your head, bringing your dream to a jarring halt as you descend deeper into the realm of slumber.

As you embark on your journey to the ruined palace, you find yourself accompanied by another individual. Together, you traverse the desolate halls, making your way towards the witch's chamber. However, a sudden gust of wind buffets against you, forcing your eyes shut. When the tempest subsides, you discover that your companion has vanished, leaving you alone to continue your path to the witch.

Upon entering the familiar chamber, the witch swiftly closes the door behind you and grasps your arm, guiding you further into the room. Inquisitively, she inquires about the identity of the person who accompanied you, but to your dismay, your memory fails you. A sense of unease settles within you as you struggle to recall the details of your companion's presence. Expressing your uncertainty to the witch, she sighs and issues a warning to be cautious, advising you to uncover the truth behind this mysterious figure. She collects your clues, examining them meticulously.

The witch discloses the pretender's current ability to transform its victims into living corpses. Once ensnared, the pretender deceives its prey, leading them to believe they are still alive and manipulating their actions. However, this control is short-lived, as after half a day, the sinister influence of the pretender wanes, leaving behind only lifeless remains.

Furthermore, the witch unveils the whereabouts of the pretender during Days 6 to 10. Her eyes radiate a purple glow as she imparts this knowledge: on Day 6, the pretender was at the market; on Day 7, it fortified its house; on Day 8, it returned to the market; on Day 9, it once again appeared at the market; and on Day 10, it schemed, setting a trap within its dwelling.

To aid you in your endeavors, the witch bestows upon you another magical trinket, advising you to give it to someone you wish to protect. Possessing both trinkets will yield no benefit, but if the cursed individual receives the Moon Trinket, it will serve to purify them. Conversely, should the pretender receive it, the trinket will lose its power.

With her final words, the witch bids you farewell, and you swiftly make your way back to your house. The quest for more clues to unravel the secrets of the pretender lies before you.

As you venture into the depths of the ruined palace, you find yourself accompanied by Moria. However, a sudden and forceful gust of wind assails you, compelling you to shield your face and close your eyes. When the tempest subsides, you discover that Moria is no longer by your side. Instead, you stand alone in a corridor, uncertain of your whereabouts. A concealed wall slides open to reveal a descending staircase, beckoning you further into the depths.

Descending the stairs, you arrive in a room adorned with mirrors, confirming that you have entered the famed mirror room. As you approach the room's center, a peculiar phenomenon unfolds—the bricks in the walls and floor begin to emit a radiant glow. Drawn to the center, you find yourself seated in a chair, surrounded by the shimmering mirrors.

Suddenly, the images within the mirrors come alive, showcasing your true beastly form. Yet, the reflections morph, revealing a woman clad in opulent attire, clutching a long white staff. Her gaze locks onto you, and her whisper resonates through the chamber. Alarmed, you attempt to rise from the chair, only to discover that you are firmly bound to its confines. As the woman's incantations continue, the mirrors intensify in brilliance, eventually reflecting a blinding image of the sun.

Agony surges through every fiber of your being as your flesh and hair ignite, consumed by searing flames. Your anguished screams reverberate through the chamber, enduring what feels like an eternity. At last, you wrench yourself free from the chair, shattering the mirrors in a desperate bid for release. Exhausted, you collapse upon the floor, succumbing to unconsciousness, your body and mind ravaged by the harrowing ordeal.

🌞 As you surrender to the need for rest, sleep envelops you, and you find yourself immersed in a dream-like state. In your slumber, you venture into a room adorned with countless mirrors, the very same mirror room that has sparked curiosity and intrigue among others. Within this ethereal chamber, the mirrors reflect a distorted image of the beastly pretender, capturing your attention.

However, the mirrored tableau undergoes a transformation, shifting to reveal a young woman adorned in an elegant gown, her delicate grasp embracing a pristine white staff. With a deliberate gesture, she directs the staff toward you, her whispers permeating the air. As her whispers grow faint, they echo, reverberating through the chamber.

Simultaneously, the mirrors begin to project the radiant image of the sun, and an intense heat engulfs you, prompting excruciating screams to escape your lips. Trapped in a chair that seems to bind you, you struggle against its hold, yearning to shatter the mirrors and halt the torment. Yet, liberation eludes you until a decisive moment arrives, freeing you from the chair's clutches. Desperate to break the cycle, you unleash your fury upon the mirrors, reducing them to shards, their fragments scattered upon the floor.

With the mirrors shattered and your torment abated, you awaken from your dream, only to find yourself surrounded by the enigmatic black mist. A chilling realization dawns upon you—you have become ensnared in the pretender's curse, as Moria had forewarned. The question remains: Will you seek a remedy to break this curse, or will you succumb to the inexorable fate that awaits you as the next vessel of the pretender?

Fellows,

We lost Celina. Do either of you know what she was doing? I can only speculate she went to stalk Richard as that's where her body was found which only furthers my suspicion of Richard. I think he is the pretender and Rojak his next host.

I can say for certain that Moria was with me in the Palace. Oddly enough we got separated when some gust of wind pulled me into a room full of broken mirrors. I did not learn anything useful OR find a relic or clue. Fate was not with me today (OOC: or my dice rolls lol). Even less so with poor Celina. To be honest I had thought I had been pulled into some trap or the monsters den but I managed to find my way out.

For my first trip the palace it was disappointing. It appears many of its secrets have already been uncovered.

It has to be Richard or Rojak. I think the three of us should stick to the original plan and vote to execute Richard.

What say you?

"Fellow Soldiers," Says Moria as she slowly stands up. "I will be casting my vote for Tybalt. One that I have trusted for some time, but now seems to be the only one who could be the Pretender."

"With the help of my good friends Galandric and Celina, I was able to visit the Witch of the Palace twice. On the first visit, she told me that, 'The pretender has the ability to change its target at will, afflicting them with a transformative curse. Over the course of three days, the cursed individual will gradually undergo changes, ultimately becoming the pretender's next host. Each new host gains one of the pretender's abilities, such as the power to see through the thick fog, possess an extraordinary sense of smell, or exhibit inhuman strength. The witch's words weigh heavily upon you, revealing a pattern in the pretender's movements. Resting on the first day, paying a visit to the grave on the second, meeting to Oskar on the third, exploring the depths of the palace on the fourth, and venturing into the abandoned market district on the fifth.'

"On the second visit, Tybalt accompanied me, and we were separated by magic, the Witch of the Palace warned me that I should be cautious of the person I arrived with. Then Told me: 'the whereabouts of the pretender during Days 6 to 10. Her eyes radiate a purple glow as she imparts this knowledge: on Day 6, the pretender was at the market; on Day 7, it fortified its house; on Day 8, it returned to the market; on Day 9, it once again appeared at the market; and on Day 10, it schemed, setting a trap within its dwelling.'

"With this information I combed through my notes meticulously and found that the only person it could be is Tybalt. On a previous visit to the Palace on day 7, I found a mirror that showed what people were doing, only Jumeaux and Tybalt were fortifying their houses. And many of the other days can be confirmed by the public record."

"Tybalt, your time has come due."

Fellow Soldiers,

I have heard the claims aimed at me by Dame Moria and find them laughable as things have begun to click into place.

Moria claims to have an amulet that protects her from the pretender, which has "allowed" her to move freely night and day. When was the last night she has slept? She has not been using this "amulet" to keep her safe, but as an excuse to cover her limitless exhaustion and uses that time to hunt us.

She also claims that a witch is giving her insight to the creature, yet none of us have come across such a person and we are told to take her at her word and her word alone. She is using this "witch" to collect our hard won clues so that we cannot assemble 10 of them to piece together a proper hint on the creature.

How convientent that this witch is suddenly found again and declares the soldier accompanying Moria for the day is suddenly a "danger". How convientint this witch only requires 5 clues for a hint instead of 10. How convientint that only Moria has located this witch. How convienent that Moria claims the pretender followed my schedule when I was one of the few soldiers who declared where he was going consistently. (Until I got seriously wounded by SA followers).

I was convinced she knew something about the palace we did not which is why I insisted on accompanying her in good faith in the hopes to find an "amulet" or weapon of my own to fight this creature. Instead I found myself ripped away from her by magic to awake in a room full fo Shattered mirrors and with nothing of value. Then we discover Celina's body outside of Richard's home. Richard, whom she has been trying to get myself, Celina, and Galandric to execute when Galandric and I had suspicions of another.

Then there is the incident where Rojak himself saw Moria transform into the beast and pursue Samson! Whos body was found the next day headless.

It was also Moria who called for innocent Njals head and vocally rallied Soldiers to vote for his execution. An execution I personally had to commit on an innocent man.

We have been fooled by Moria repeatedly.

Fellow Soldiers, see through this obvious ruse and bring Moria's plotting to an end. I have been seen multpile times by witnesses doing things that would not have allowed me to commit the murders this creature has. Like building traps verfied by Galandric when Lexis died, or being in the palace today with Moria when Celina was killed. It could not be me in two places at once!

I admit, I had thought the creature was another among you and I had cast my vote for them, but now I see the pieces falling into place that all point towards Moria.

I will be recasting my vote for the manipulating pretender. Moria.

Fellow Soldiers, join me in bringing her schemes to an end. Surely you can see these pieces falling into place as clearly as I.

The tide rises,

"Fellow Soldiers, in defense of my credibility I point to two facts." She holds up a finger, "First, Celina, who we all know was not the pretender by virtue of her untimely demise, used a tool of hers to determine that I am not the pretender. She had no incentive to lie, and this was quite recent."

Lifting a second finger, "My friend Galandric can confirm my alibi for one of the murders. Jumeaux, before their untimely demise at the hands of the Pretender could also confirm this alibi."

"Pretender Tybalt, the death of Njal is on me. I was deceived and I regret my actions that day. I acted on intuition and it failed me, and an innocent soldier died. I deeply morn the loss. Today, I am acting on the word of the Witch and the evidence that is before me."

As Moria places the sun trinket into your trembling hands, a surge of anticipation courses through your veins. The trinket's gentle glow casts a warm radiance, promising solace and deliverance from the clutches of the pretender's curse. But as the light emanating from the trinket touches your skin, an unexpected and agonizing sensation ensues.

A searing pain, intense and all-consuming, courses through every fiber of your being. It is as if the light itself possesses a transformative power, delving deep within you to cleanse the impurities that have taken root. The curse, like a relentless parasite, writhes and recoils against the illuminating force, desperately clinging to its host. In this harrowing battle, the light and the curse engage in a fierce struggle for dominance.

Your screams reverberate through the air, a raw manifestation of the excruciating pain that courses through your veins. Each agonized cry serves as a testament to the struggle unfolding within your very core. The expulsion of the curse is not a gentle process, but a forceful extraction of the malevolent presence that has haunted your existence.

As the curse is forcibly expelled from your body, a profound sense of relief washes over you. You feel as if a weight has been lifted, and the tendrils of the curse no longer bind you in their suffocating grasp. A newfound clarity permeates your being, as if you have emerged from a long and arduous ordeal, reborn and cleansed.

Yet, with the expulsion of the curse comes a bittersweet realization. The power, once bestowed upon you by the pretender's curse, dissipates like wisps of smoke, fading into the ether. The abilities that had granted you an edge in the hunt for the pretender are relinquished, leaving behind a void in their wake.

As you extend the sun trinket towards Galandric, a glimmer of uncertainty flickers in his eyes. Reluctantly, he reaches out to grasp the trinket, his hand trembling ever so slightly. As his fingers make contact with the radiant artifact, a profound transformation unfolds before your eyes.

A surge of radiant light emanates from the trinket, enveloping Galandric in its warm embrace. However, the reaction that ensues is far from gentle. Galandric's countenance contorts in pain, his features contending with the searing agony that accompanies the purging of the pretender's curse. A guttural cry escapes his lips, echoing the intensity of his suffering.

The trinket's gentle glow intensifies, its luminosity growing brighter with each passing moment. It pulsates with an otherworldly energy, as if channeling the very essence of purification. Within Galandric's body, the black mist that once consumed his essence begins to writhe and recoil, as if desperate to cling onto its host. Yet, the radiant power of the trinket proves unyielding, unwavering in its mission to liberate Galandric from the shackles of the pretender's influence.

With resolute determination, the trinket pushes forth, banishing the malevolent mist from Galandric's very core. The expulsion is not without resistance, as the pretender's curse fights against its inevitable demise. However, the trinket's radiant light acts as an unwavering force, forcefully evicting the encroaching darkness from Galandric's being.

As the trinket's glow gradually subsides, the pain etched across Galandric's face begins to ease. A moment of profound relief washes over him, his breathing steadying as he realizes the weight of the curse has been lifted. The mist, now vanquished and dispersed, dissipates into the ether, no longer a malevolent force within Galandric's soul.

With a renewed sense of clarity, Galandric gazes at you with gratitude and a newfound sense of purpose. The trinket, once a source of anguish, has become a symbol of deliverance and protection. Galandric is now free from the pretender's insidious grasp, empowered to continue the fight against the encroaching darkness.

No no no Moria. You are the pretender here. You have not explained why I was conviently teleported away in a gust of Magic when I accompanied you to the palace.

You claim to see a witch? A witch who uses magic? Magic that might be capable of teleporting a Soldier away to protect its host? A witch no one else but you has seen? I know I certainly can't use magic and yet you claim to have magic items and a witch in your pocket.

Soldiers. It is obvious to me that this "witch" that Moria serves is the pretender and its lair has been made in the palace. Clearly it has been using its magic to track our movements, to hunt us, and to lead its host Moria to be seen in places that give her weak alibis at best.

Celina, Galandric, Moria, and I were working together until this very moment to track the beast. It is possible, nay LIKELY, that Moria exploited our trust to lure dear Celina to her death since she got her to openly say she was not the pretender. Moria got what she needed from dear Celina and disposed of her.

We know the pretender can change hosts with a curse. How this works we do not exactly know, but this could explain why traces of the creature were found on Rojak after the attack on Samson and no traces found on Moria. The Pretender likely foresaw Celina closing in with its magic after Moria accidently exposed herself to Samson AND Rojak and quickly changed hosts to give Moria a false alibi.

Rojak, you saw this woman with your own eyes transform and kill and your best friend. I was too wounded at the time to send any messages or do much of anything and by the time I had recovered I too had fallen for Moria's deception of innocence.

But no more! Soldiers! Let us be rid of this pretender and honor Moria's memory from before she became its host. Vote with me to execute the beast and save not only our own lives but the lives of the villages in this forsaken place. Do not allow the deaths of Oskar, Kiran, Lexis, Njal, Samson, Jeumaux, and Celina to be for nothing.

Death to the pretender! Death to Moria!

Galandric,

You saw with your own eyes that I was building traps the night Lexis was murdered.

You saw with your own eyes how I openly told you, Celina, and Moria of my intent to accompany Moria to the palace.

You saw with your own eyes my own report of what happened in the palace long before Moria came up with her deception to have me executed.

Please do not buy into this deception. I cannot speak of all of the pretenders powers, I do not think any of us can. But how can one Soldier have magic items AND found a magic witch AND 10 clues? I've barely collected 3 clues and 6 materials in 13 days! Probably because I spend half of my nights asleep!

I'll admit, we had plans to investigate you and vote for your execution, and it appears someone is still attempting to frame you by leaving Celinas corpse by your home.

Moria is the pretender. There are far too many holes in her many stories and she has been far too secretive for this not to be true.

Not to mention she has so many magic items and clues and a witch. How could one accrue all of that within 13 days? By not sleeping.

I hope you will make the right choice and join me in voting for her execution. If not, I'll see you in the next life.

Galandric seemed unsure as he looked around the small circle, but in a strange turn of events amid the argument Moria turned to him and placed her amulet around his neck. Galandric looked down at it confused, but then a change overtook him.

The amulet began to glow, and as it did Galandrics body was rocked with spasms. He shook and shimmied in place, then screamed out like a wounded animal. Moments later he was on the ground writhing. The whole ordeal lasted several minutes until the glow subsided and Galandric stilled.

Cautiously he picked himself up off the ground and brushed some dirt from his outfit. "Good choice there Moria, I was like, super cursed." He said in a tone much more relaxed then he had seemed for a long time. "It totally messed with my head. Anyway Tybalts the monster and we should definitely kill him." He breathed out a big sigh of relief.

Crocodile tears pretender. We know you have the ability to change hosts. Dear Celina now lies dead now that you've used her for your false alibi.

She was killed AFTER you locked me in a room of broken mirrors in the Palace. Either your pretender magic is strong enough to arrange her death after sending me away, or perhaps Galandric murdered her for you while you were in the palace "seeing your witch".

We all know where I was when Celina died. Even you acknowledged and know I was with you in the palace when her body was found. Where was Galandric when this occured? Where were you after locking me away? Oh thats right "seeing your witch".

I have multiple alibis by multiple witnesses for several of the murders. Including Lexis, Celina, and Kiran. Yet only Galandric acknowledges and claims to have seen you at your alibis. 1. Celina used her tool and stated that both I and Rojak were not the pretender.
2. Celina later died. proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was not the pretender.

Its clear that they intend to kill one of us tonight. I doubt it will be me as they continue to try framing me for execution. Richard, Rojak, Hana, please be careful. Fortify yourselves in your homes as I am and knuckle down till morning.

I am starting to think that Galandric might be the pretender and Moria its host. Since Galandric was unaccounted for during Celina's death. He may have killed her and left her body outside of Richard's home to frame him. What do you all think?

I think there is a simple solution for this. Tybalt claims that he was shunted away from the witches sanctum in the palace not because he is the Pretender but because the place is in some way tied to Moria, who he claims in the Pretender. Why don't we all go to the palace tomorrow than. If Tybalt is telling the truth, we will also be shunted off from the witches sanctum. If Moria is right, then we should be able to enter just fine. Setting aside all the other rather obvious evidence of the past this is a simple test in the here and now that should show to any unsure of the truth who is being honest.

His eyes widen in astonishment as he discovers your presence, and you can sense his gaze fixated upon you.

Amidst this intrigue, Moria suddenly appears, having tracked your footprints to the location. Confusion marks her expression as she takes in the sight of the three Galandrics, including yourself. As you arrive at Richard's house with the intention of standing guard, a disconcerting realization dawns upon you — Richard is nowhere to be found. Determined not to let him slip away unnoticed, you swiftly scan your surroundings for any trace of his presence. Fortunately, you spot his footprints nearby and instinctively begin to pursue them, driven by the urgency of the situation.

Following the trail left by Richard's footprints, you find yourself led to Tybalt's fortified abode. Momentarily diverting your attention from the footprints, you survey the area, only to discern the presence of three shadowy figures lurking in the darkness. Among them is Rojak, who skillfully conceals himself, making it arduous to detect his exact position. However, what truly astonishes you is the revelation that two of the figures bear an uncanny resemblance to Galandric. Bewilderment clouds your thoughts as you grapple with the inexplicable presence of duplicate Galandrics.

Yet, you remind yourself of your primary objective — safeguarding Richard. Faced with the uncertainty of Richard's whereabouts, you resolve to maintain your focus on the task at hand. Since Richard remains elusive, you elect to dedicate your efforts to the protection of his dwelling, ensuring its security throughout the night.

With unwavering determination, you stand sentinel, faithfully keeping watch over Richard's house until the morning light graces the sky, casting its gentle glow upon the scene. Your mind remains consumed by questions and conjectures, yet you steadfastly fulfill your role, ever prepared to safeguard Richard's interests amidst the enigmatic events unfolding around you.

Recognizing the need to evade their prying gazes, you silently depart from the vicinity, leaving Rojak and Galandric behind. Your focus shifts resolutely towards Hana's abode, a target that beckons your attention. Enveloped in the power of your beastly form, you forcefully breach the threshold of her dwelling, swiftly finding her in a slumbering state, blissfully unaware of the impending danger.

Seizing the opportunity presented, you move with calculated precision, swiftly ending Hana's life, extracting her essence to fuel your own transformative abilities. As her essence intertwines with your being, a newfound sense of strength courses through your veins, empowering you with the potential to metamorphose once again.

With your purpose fulfilled, you quietly retreat from the scene, leaving behind Hana's lifeless body as a haunting testament to your nocturnal exploits. The possibilities afforded by her essence now pulse within you, offering the potential for further evolution and adaptation as you navigate the shadows that enshroud your world.

Soldier Galandric,

I believe my logic is perfectly sound, the discussion should hinge on this simple argument:

If Celina is not the pretender, than I am trustworthy.
Celina was killed by the pretender, and is therefore not the pretender.
Therefore, I am trustworthy.

This, I believe is irrefutable.

Soldiers and Pretender Tybalt,

Tonight I protected Richard. Which brought me to Tybalt's house. We all know it is quite fortified so there's little to see there. A clever move as it prevents us from stalking effectively. My house on the other hand is wide open. While there I witnessed Rojak, and... Two Galandric's. I fear Tybalt has claimed his next victim.

It appears my home is quite popular tonight. Didn't dare to step inside for fear I would kill you with my traps and blade Moria?

The non-pretenders know what I am doing tonight. If you think me so skilled that I can sneak out of my home surrounded by literally every other soldier, the pretender, and its lacky, you are as foolish as you are untruthful.

Pretender Moria, did Galandric tell you what he saw outside my home or did you see it with your own eyes as you were out hunting another victim? We see through your ruse.

As for your "irrefutable" logic, the pretender can jump hosts. This has been established unlike your sudden discovery of "delayed death". Why is it that you convientintly keep skating over that fact? You attacked and killed Samson then jumped into a different host to establish your false alibi with Celina.
Likely Galandric! Who openly admitted to being cursed and "cured" when you gave him your "magic amulet".

So my question is, which of you hosts the pretender now? Is it Galandric or you Moria.
It is clear to me that the creature shares you two as its host. So which one is Possessed by the beast now I wonder.

It doesn't matter. We'll execute the both of you in the end.

Good Richard,

I hope this letter finds you alive. It appears Moria or Galandric saw you in your mask. How did your evening go? Was your attack successful?

Rojak, Hana, are you both still with us? It appears both Galandric and Moria were out tonight. I do not know which is the pretender but I fear one of them is hunting.

Their suggestion to go to the palace tomorrow is a sketchy one at best. When I last accompained Moria to the Palace she blasted me away from her and killed Celina. I do not know enough about that place except that it seems to magnify the Pretenders magic.

Let us not foolishly walk into the lions den where she (or he) is strongest. Perhaps the darkness of the halls cancels its weakness to sunlight.

I hope to head from each you. Please still be alive.

As you wear the mask of the pretender, transforming your face into a convincing likeness of Galandric, you venture out into the night to stalk Moria. Positioned near her house, you soon realize that she is not present, indicating she must have ventured out herself. Determined to track her down, you diligently follow what you believe to be her footsteps, leading you to Tybalt's house. It becomes apparent that you may have erred in interpreting the trail along the way.

To your surprise, you notice Rojak already present, observing your movements from a distance. It appears that he had arrived before you, adding an unexpected dynamic to the unfolding scenario. As you remain vigilant, another soldier, Galandric himself, emerges on the scene. His eyes widen in astonishment upon discovering your presence, and you can feel his gaze fixed upon you.

Amidst this complex web of interactions, Moria suddenly arrives, having traced your footprints to the location. Confusion reflects in her expression as she takes in the sight of Rojak, Galandric, and your disguised self. After a moment of contemplation, she shakes her head and retraces her steps towards your house, leaving you behind with Rojak and Galandric.

Aware of the delicate situation, you maintain a safe distance from Galandric, ensuring he does not come too close to reveal your true identity. As the night gradually fades, giving way to the blue hues of dawn, you swiftly depart the area. Taking precautionary detours to avoid any direct pursuit to your house, you remain vigilant to safeguard your secrets and maintain the pretender's mystique.

Pretender Tybalt,

Point me to a when we learned the pretender can "jump hosts"? Keep in mind we are talking about the pretender themselves, not the curse you're placing on soldiers.
