As the morning light illuminates the city and the early birds begin to sing their songs the nights calm is broken by the sudden and abrupt rush of Galandric from his home. He wields a pot in one hand as a weapons and looks around wildly, convinced something may be waiting for him outside his home. When nothing does come to assault him, he breathes a sigh of relief, then looks down at the headless corpse outside his home. "Apparently my house was the party spot last night." He muttered, then tucked his impromptu pot weapon away. He waited for his fellow soldiers to awaken and gather at the newest corpse.

"My friends the beast has struck again, and this time I myself was witness to the murder. I followed Jumeaux last night, as he was the most suspicious still among us. He left his home and came here, to my home, in order to watch my house. As I followed him I noticed Celina and Moria also following Jumeaux, which makes sense as yesterday we all determined him suspect." He gestured to a few sets of bushes around his home and indicated the 4 peoples various hiding places around his house from the night before. "Through the night a fifth figure apeared though, and confirmed our suspicions. It was... Also Jumeaux!" He paused for dramatic effect before pressing on. "This new Jumeaux did come just to watch though. Before my eyes he transformed into the Beast, and proceeded to murder the first Jumeaux I had followed from his home. It was a grisly sight..." He gestured to the headless corpse before them.

"We have come to an impasse now, as everyone has had some sort of alibi presented for at least one of the various murders. This indicates that the Pretender has used its power to mislead us or trick us in some way on one of these accounts." He looked between the few remaining souls around him. "I saw Celina and Moria last night and the Pretender at the same time, which gives me certainty that neither of them is the Pretender. Moria saw me on the night of Kiran's murder and as we both confirmed each others presence that night, so you can be confident I am not the pretender." He turned and looked to Tybalt. "I can confirm that Tybalt was up all night building traps around his home on the night of one of the murders. No amount of shapeshifting could lend itself to faking that sort of hard labor." He turned to Rojak. "Tybalt has confirmed Rojak's presence during one of the nights, strangely attacking him, but still providing him an alibi for a murder. As Rojak has corroborated this story, we know neither he not Tybalt would have had time that night to commit the murder." He made one final turn and leveled a finger each at Hana and Richard. "That leaves you two, who I would say have had the most possible to fake alibis thus far. Hana's alibi was I watched her house and did not see her leave all night during one of the murder nights. This could have been manipulated through the pretenders powers or some other trickery. Richard's alibi is he was spotted by Rojak while he was fleeing from Samsons' murder scene, which is suspect as since the Pretender is a shapeshifter. If Richard were the Pretender he could have killed Samson, then ran ahead of the fleeing Rojak and turned back into himself to create a false alibi."

He clasped his hands together. "We are getting down to very few of us left. I feel at this point we should all declare where we were and what we were doing last night. If we have any hope of catching the Pretender we need to all work together."

I can confirm the account from Galandric, it was truly dreadful to behold. While I did not see himself or Moria, I did witness Jumeaux's demise.

I find it likely that Galadndric's estimation of our most likely suspect is also true. Does anyone have any other evidence or defence for themselves?

"As many of you may now guess, I'm pretty good at stalking and have been doing a good bit of it." Says Moria with a smirk, "I have never tailed Hana, the one time I tailed Richard he was sleeping. But that was a night in which nothing of consequence happened."

As you approach Samson's lifeless form in the graveyard, Galandric, Tybalt, and Richard trail closely behind. The sight that greets you is both chilling and grim—a headless body, a silent testament to the brutality that has befallen your comrades. Gently, you retrieve Samson's black cloak, a prized possession that will aid you in concealing your identity amidst the shadows.

Nearby, you notice thick strands of the pretender's black hair scattered around Samson's body. In the warm embrace of the sun, the strands gradually lose their form, melting away like the remnants of a sinister apparition. Recognizing the importance of this tangible connection to your elusive adversary, you swiftly gather the hair, preserving it as evidence of the pretender's presence.

As you go through Samson's belongings, a somber reminder of his untimely demise, you retrieve his valuables. It is a bittersweet act, knowing that these possessions will find no use in the afterlife. Yet, in this quest for justice, every resource and advantage must be seized upon. You carefully tuck away Samson's belongings, acknowledging the weight of his sacrifice and silently vowing to carry his memory forward.

As you approach Samson's lifeless body, disappointment washes over you as you see Rojak, Galandric, and Tybalt already rummaging through his belongings, leaving behind only meager scraps for you to salvage. Frustration gnaws at you, but you refuse to be deterred. Instead, you shift your focus to the surroundings, exploring the graveyard in search of any overlooked clues or remnants of Samson's struggle.

The ground tells a tale of Samson's desperate attempt to evade the clutches of the pretender. Footsteps and claw marks crisscross between tombs and graves, marking his frantic and futile attempts to escape the impending doom. It becomes evident that Samson had taken sharp turns and hidden within the labyrinthine maze of the graveyard, hoping to confuse and elude the relentless pursuer.

As you follow the trail of Samson's desperate evasion, your eyes catch sight of something unusual within one of the tombs. A small bag lies abandoned, seemingly forgotten amidst the chaos. Curiosity piqued, you approach and cautiously open it, revealing a collection of tablets inscribed with unfamiliar and enigmatic writings. The recent bloodstains on the bag suggest that these tablets once belonged to Samson himself.

Although you are unable to decipher the cryptic script adorning the tablets, a glimmer of hope ignites within you. The knowledge and wisdom of the traveling witch come to mind, her abilities rumored to transcend ordinary understanding. With this newfound discovery, you resolve to seek her aid, believing that she may hold the key to unraveling the secrets locked within these ancient tablets.

As you enter the witch's luxurious room, she greets you with an air of intrigue. Handing over the collection of clues you've gathered, you watch attentively as she meticulously examines each one, taking notes on her paper with calculated precision.

A moment of anticipation hangs in the air as the witch taps her lips, deep in contemplation. Suddenly, her gaze intensifies, and her eyes begin to emit a mesmerizing purple glow that suffuses the room. You feel a slight shiver run down your spine as her mouth opens, ready to reveal the knowledge she has gleaned.

With a commanding tone, the witch warns you of a dire capability possessed by the pretender—a curse that can be inflicted upon its chosen victims. The pretender has the ability to change its target at will, afflicting them with a transformative curse. Over the course of three days, the cursed individual will gradually undergo changes, ultimately becoming the pretender's next host. Each new host gains one of the pretender's abilities, such as the power to see through the thick fog, possess an extraordinary sense of smell, or exhibit inhuman strength. The witch's words weigh heavily upon you, revealing a pattern in the pretender's movements. Resting on the first day, paying a visit to the grave on the second, meeting to Oskar on the third, exploring the depths of the palace on the fourth, and venturing into the abandoned market district on the fifth. These details provide a glimpse into the pretender's sinister agenda, offering potential insight into its motives and whereabouts.

With an air of urgency, the witch stresses the need for additional clues to deepen your understanding of the pretender's identity and actions. Time is of the essence, as the pretender may have already cursed individuals in its pursuit of a new host. Even if you were to eliminate the pretender, its essence would transfer to its chosen vessel, forcing you to face the harrowing task once more.

Armed with this newfound knowledge, you grasp the weight of the challenge ahead. The witch's guidance and the acquisition of further clues hold the key to unraveling the pretender's true nature. Determined and resolute, you vow to expedite your search, knowing that every moment counts in the race against the pretender's curse.

Determined to gather any useful resources from Jumeaux's tragic demise, you approach his headless corpse with a mix of caution and curiosity. The marks of the pretender's ferocious attack adorn his lifeless form, testaments to the merciless claws that brought about his untimely end. Undeterred by the macabre scene, you meticulously search his body for anything that might aid you in your mission.

Your careful examination yields several valuable findings. First and foremost, you discover a key to Jumeaux's fortified house, a significant acquisition that grants you access to a safer place to hide.

Furthermore, you come across a collection of intriguing clues, carefully tucked away in Jumeaux's pockets. These clues, though enigmatic, hold the potential to unravel the mysteries surrounding the pretender's identity and its nefarious intentions.

Among the possessions strewn around the fallen soldier, you stumble upon a set of construction tools. These tools, once wielded by Jumeaux, can now become valuable assets in your hands. With their aid, you can enhance your ability to efficiently gather materials and fortify your own dwelling.

Noticing the black strands of the pretender's hair intertwined with Jumeaux's lifeless form, you collect them before they dissipate under the scorching sun. These remnants, while intangible, serve as a grim reminder of the relentless enemy you face and may prove useful in future investigations.

With a heavy heart, you depart from the scene, carrying the weight of Jumeaux's demise and the newfound resources you've gathered. Available Essence: 1

You can always choose to do one of the special actions over your regular night actions(for soldiers). Choose one of the following abilities(Pretender Lv3 - Fully Grown)(Use an essence point to switch an existing ability or use it to gain a trait):

1. Magical Camouflage: Soldiers can no longer use magic to reveal your identity
2. Embrace the Shadows: Your presence becomes elusive in the cover of night, making it increasingly difficult for others to detect you. (Hide Out and Stalking attempts against you will be significantly less effective)
3. Mind Control: Mind Control: With your extraordinary ability, you possess the power to manipulate the minds of those you encounter. Upon successfully subduing a target, you gain control over their thoughts and actions for a limited time(For 1 turn - You can make the person repeat a word or an action of your choice). Will turn into a corpse once the time is up.
4. Expand an ability slot: Invest in yourself.

Currently Available Trait Choice: Gain Jumeaux' Pretender Trait(Stealthy): You won't leave any clue behind after killing a soldier(only for the first two targets. The trait will be removed after killing your second target)

Current Abilities(You need to successfully hunt a soldier in order to gather enough essence to change one of these):
1. Face-Shifting: The ability of face shifting allows you to assume the appearance of anyone you have encountered throughout the day. By adopting their visage, you can blend seamlessly among others. However, it is important to note that if you encounter the person whose appearance you have taken on, your face will revert back to its original form.
2. Embrace the Shadows: Your presence becomes elusive in the cover of night, making it increasingly difficult for others to detect you. (Hide Out and Stalking attempts against you will be significantly less effective)
3. Transformation(Passive) - Will use this form by default during hunt. You can choose not to use this form but must specify it.

Traits:
1. CURSED - Choose who you wish to curse(Choosing your successor).

2. Observant - Pick a soldier to learn details. Combined with Enhanced Smell, you will learn even more details.

Under the cover of darkness, your mission begins: to hunt down Celina. Upon reaching her house, you search every corner, but she is nowhere to be found. Using the cloak of a black mist, you swiftly approach Celina, catching her off guard. In a desperate attempt to escape, she reacts, but you quickly subdue her. With a precise strike to the back of her skull, you inject the black mist, causing her eyes to grow cold and her resistance to fade. Satisfied with your success, you withdraw from the scene.

As you make your departure, a curious realization strikes you: Celina rises from the ground, seemingly unharmed. An unexpected connection forms between you both, allowing you to exert control. Through this subtle bond, you command Celina to return home and await further instructions from you. She hesitantly complies, walking back to her house under your influence.

Your mission accomplished, you fade into the night, knowing that Celina is now under your influence and awaits your next command.

They have great Spirits here, and a nice growing community of true culture, ill need to attempt to replicate such as i can when i return to lower tax's.

Mayhaps thats the condition i will give to the people

Do this and ill lower the tax's ill say,
