Lasanar Liquor
Lasanar Liquor (also known as Widow-Maker) is an alcaholic drink curently distilled/brewed At the Colasan Keg in Colasan. It has become imfamous for its extream potency, and early versions were so strong that many testers lost their lives.
History of Lasanar Liquor
The idea of a new drink started when Zero Tribal, the brother of the current owner of the Colasan Keg (Lynx Tribal), was attending a tournament in Norland in the north of Atamara. Most nights leading up to the tournament would be spent in the various Inns and Pubs, with many nobles getting extremely drunk and merry. He did notice however that many late comers did not have time to drink enough to be in this state and felt extremely left out of the celebrations. He mentioned this in a letter to his older brother;
"...I really do feel sorry for some of these men, arriving late to the inns means that there aren't enough drinks for them to get intoxified. Many friends I have made here have been left sober for days now and this just cannot continue. There must be something stronger out there"
However while Zero was out having the time of his life Lynx was busy with he take over of Colasan. While walking around the city he found a building boarded up, locked up tight but seemed to still be in good condition. His men helped him to force the door open and look inside for clues into what exactly this building was once used for. Upon searching the building the Deeds to the building were found, and stated that this was infact a brewery and distillery. Lynx requested that he may keep the building and the request was accepted.
Once Colasan was back in Lasanarian hands Lynx got to work with producing his first batch of the still un-named drink. These first barrels were sent to Lady Poison, a very avid drinker who was well known for being able to handle her drink. She did not trust this new concoction (mainly because the messenger Lynx had sent arrived half dead after drinking a cup full of this weird drink) and gave to one of her men to try. He died minutes later.
Many trials of the drink were carried out, all with the same results. Word spread of how dangerous this drink was and it was given the name 'Widow-Maker' by most. Lynx had poured his heart and soul (and gold pouch) into this venture, and it was was really starting to affect his finances. On his way back from Sasat, some of his stock had been left in the rain, and had a strange orange fungus growing between the cracks on the barrels. They gave off a sweet aroma and were some reason not affected by the deadly liquid that seeped all over them.
Then it came to him, something in that fungus made it immune to the side effects of the drink. Lynx scraped some off and put it into a cup, then filled the cup with Widow-Maker. Thinking that their Leader was attempting suicide, Lynx's men tried to make him spit it out, but to no avail. Suprisingly it tasted nothing like he had heard from any of the testers. It tasted like honey and was extremely easy on the back of the throat. Within seconds Lynx was on the floor, knocked out cold by the sheer strength of the drink. Once he came to he sent word for his Brewery to collect this strange fungus and add it to the stock still at the warehouse. He then ordered for it to be sent to every troop leader of Lasanar. Many were very worried about trying it, and gave it to their men insted. Seeing the results, they were quick to realise that the Widow-Maker had been tamed and it was safe to drink.
Lynx is now looking to expand to one of the other cities of the realm, and hopes to one day export it to other realms and then to other islands.
