The battle of Braga was a quick one. None of Hernfelk's men were injured. Captain Ewald quickly gathered the soldiers and formed lines again.

Within an hour, a messenger arrived and gave the order to march towards Krimml.

Hernfelk-"Are we ready to march, Captain?"

Ewald-"We are, Sir. I am a bit worried about armours rusting but we can clean them as soon as we arrive in Krimml. Hopefully we will have some time to prepare before we attack the city."

Hernfelk-"I am sure our general will give us at least an hour to prepare. I am curious how our general will assault the city walls without any siege engine."

Tom-"I hope he is not planning to build stairs out of our dead bodies, Sir."

Hernfelk-"Well we can wait until other soldiers pile their corpses first."

Krimml... The capital of Fontan and her only city. Over a thousand men surrounded the city and waited for an attack order. When generals signalled, the sound of battle horns shook the battle field. With the sound, both armies of Perdan and Westmoor marched towards the fortification of Krimml.

Four siege towers slowly moved towards the walls. Some Fontanese archers tried to slow down their enemies with fire arrows but there only a handful of arrows managed to hit the siege engines and the few that hit were not enough to burn the siege towers down.

Once the siege engines made paths to the walls, Hernfelk ordered his men to enter the closest siege tower. Hernfelk watched his men put their shields over their heads for cover while trying to squeeze their way into the tower. Some managed to enter while others were pushed back by other soldiers.

While Hernfelk was waiting frustratingly, a couple archers spotted Hernfelk and fired their arrows hoping to kill him but Tom and Ewald quickly shielded Hernfelk. Infuriated by this, Hernfelk dismounted from his horse and charged to the tower himself, pushing everyone out of his way.

When Hernfelk just entered the tower, some of the soldiers who entered the tower ahead of him managed to breach the walls and began to push Fontanese soldiers. By the time Hernfelk got on the walls, Fontanese soldiers were throwing out their weapons to show their willingness to surrender.

The sky grew darker as Hernfelk and his men approached the capital city. The battle of Braga was Hernfelk's first battle against enemies from another realm. Until Braga, Hernfelk mostly fought peasants with farming tools and inhuman creatures.

The battle itself was a quick one. The Fontanese army in Braga was outnumbered badly and Hernfelk did not lose a single man from the battle. It was more of a skirmish than a battle. The siege of Krimml was not different. Only one of Hernfelk's men died during the siege and he died from collapsing walls.

The second battle of Braga was the only battle which made Hernfelk feel like he was on a battlefield. During the battle that Hernfelk watched the eyes of his opponents and realized he enjoyed looking at the eyes before killing his enemies. Just before taking the lives of his enemies, he could see the emotions reflected in their eyes. Fear, hopelessness, and resentment... those emotions empowered Hernfelk, made him feel like a god.

After the battle, he gathered the eyes of his opponents as trophies. Also, looking at those eyes made him remember what he felt before taking the lives of the owners of the eyes.

Hernfelk and the 1st Platoon finally returned from the military campaign against Fontan. Hernfelk heard of the recent change in Ar Mosul which increased production and population of the region. As soon as he arrived in the region, he sent a letter to his liege to change the name of his estate to Ar Qudal. Peasants of his estate has been calling the northern region of Ar Mosul as Ar Qudal for generations and Hernfelk decided to respect the tradition. After a day, a courier from Ar Mosul notified Hernfelk about the change in the estate name. It indeed changed... except his liege for got 'l' at the end of the region name.

Hernfelk-"So now my estate is going to be called Ar Quda? Did you drop an l on the way to here?"

Courier-"I am sure it was a mistake, Sir. Don't blame me, I am just a courier. I was ordered to carry the message to you and nothing more. It is not like I get paid for making a joke. If you are unhappy with the name, you should consort your liege, Sir."

Hernfelk-"Damn it. I don't want to bother my liege. He is a busy man. I will just tell my peasants to just be happy with the name."

Courier-"Can you sign this paper, Sir? So I can return to Ar Mosul?"

Hernfelk-"Mary, sign the paper. I will go to the village with Tom to announce the change."

After days of doing civil works in the village of Ar Quda in the north of Ar Mosul, men of the 1st Platoon had enough of plowing the land. They were soldiers not farmers. Ever since they were recruited by Hernfelk, they spent most of their time hunting defeated enemies, fighting skirmishes or plowing the land. They never had a battle that people would remember for generations. They didn't even get a chance to fight a decent battle in fact.

Enraged by Hernfelk's inability to provide them with a decent challenge, everyone gathered to confront Captain Ewald in the manor. Tom, who was surprised by angry looks on his fellow soldiers, tried to calm them down but only thing he got from trying to stop them was getting punched in the stomach.

When the men arrived in the manor, they found Hernfelk and Ewald drinking tea in a small garden recently built by the manor. The men surrounded Hernfelk and Ewald quickly.

Hernfelk-"Uhh-what is going on here? Shouldn't you all be plowing the field? Captain, what is this? I thought I told you to order the men to help our peasants."

Ewald-"I did, Sir. I have no idea why they are here. They shouldn't be here at all. Jack, Ronald, why did you bring everyone here?"

Jack-"Sir, we are soldiers. We left our homes to become soldiers not to plow fields and be farmers. We demand to be treated like soldiers."

Hernfelk frowned his face as the soldiers around him nodded and agreed to Jack. How dare they demand something to the knight they serve!

Hernfelk-"This is absurd! Do you all think I am paying you fools to just sit around and wait for something to happen? I am paying you idiots to follow orders! If you want to be treated as soldiers then follow orders first! If you all want to be whiny peasants, I will send you all back to Partora! Don't forget. I am the one who's paying you all not the other way around! If you have understood, then go back to plowing!"

Ewald quickly gathered the soldiers and led them back to the field.

Hernfelk had to admit he made his men plow the land for too long. It was time to return to the capital to let his men spend some time with whores before they become violent.
