  • Irombrozia has had three royal families in it's time of being. All those who have held the title of ruler, or been married to a ruler, are entitled to the title of "King" or "Queen" if they desire it, no matter whether they are currently a ruler or not. Those who are in any way legitimately related to royalty are entitled to the title of "Prince" or "Princess". The next in line of succession (i.e. firstborn child of the rulers/most direct heir of a royal family) shall have the title "Crown Prince" or "Crown Princess".
  • When selecting a successor for ruler, the person who has the most rank shall be selected. Rank shall be valued as follows:
Firstborn child of current ruler- 5
In the event of the firstborn's death, the eldest child- 4
Other child of current ruler- 2
Firstborn child of former ruler- 3
Other child of former ruler- 1
Lordship- 1
Dukeship- 2
Council Position- 2
Vizier- 1
Marshal- 1
Married into the royal family- 2
Child of someone married into the royal family, but child not recognized as member of royal family- 1/2
Illegitimate child of royal family member- 1/2
Firstborn, but illegitimate, child of current ruler- 2
Otherwise part of the royal family- 1
Former ruler- 2
Voted Favorite of Cabinet- 3
Voted Favorite of Assembly- 2
Voted Favorite of Questorship- 1
  • Sadly Necessary OOC notice- In a real monarchy in medieval times, there wasn't voting. it was hereditary. In Irombrozia, we try and duplicate that. In fact, we largely ignore the existence of the vote for the King, and select a candidate via methods of discussion or, in the future, the above table. Thus, it would be greatly, greatly appreciated if players with characters in Irombrozia would try and respect that RP, or come up with a very good and creative reason to circumvent it, and vote accordingly. And if this violates any inalienable rights, I'll delete it and we'll change how we do things accordingly.

Royal Families

  • Families which have held the position of King or Queen

Keithson Family

  • King Marc Keithson- First King of Irombrozia, ruled from July 15 to August 6 1006 when he was deposed by an assassin's blade. He ruled a second time from August 12 to December 19 1006. He ruled for 23 days in his first term, and 130 days in his second term. Thus, King Marc Keithson ruled for 153 days. He and his family are revered. Established Irombrozia as an absolute monarchy, led Irombrozia through the Honor War, negotiated first CCA treaties, obsession with chairs. Negotiated the end of the Honor War, and led Irombrozia into the War of Irombrozian Secession.

Hyral Family

  • Queen Baiko Hyral- Second ruler of Irombrozia, first Queen. And if you call her King, she may kill you. Ruled from August 6 to August 12 1006 until she was kidnapped by Luz de Bians. She ruled a total of 7 days and is, thus far, the only ruling Queen in Irombrozia's history. Led Irombrozia into the Honor War. Appointed Regent for King Hireshmont's sons when he was deported. Ruled as de facto Queen from April 8, 1007, to May 21, 1007 when she fell ill and stepped down. All the while she was de facto Queen, her actual title was Regent, for she never officially claimed the throne, and Hireshmont retained the royal title. She was killed in battle against Riombarans during Delvin's War.

Vellos Family

  • King Hireshmont Vellos- Third ruler of Irombrozia, second King, ruled from December 19, 1006 to April 7, 1007, and again from August 24, 1007 to March 25, 1009. Writer of the Irombrozian Constitution, Legal System, and Bill of Rights. Also related to Amekal Vellos, Prophet of Qyrvaggism. Reformed Irombrozia into a Constitutional Monarchy, instituted education, led Irombrozia through the early days of the War of Irombrozian Secession, married Retravic Slayer, Prime Minister of the Republic of Fwuvoghor. Negotiated stronger CCA treaties. Ruled for 108 days until he was deported. Held every council position. Upon return Hireshmont was made Royal Treasurer of his own treasury. When Baiko fell ill and resigned, it was intended that Hireshmont become king, but a scribal error occurred and Duke Torrero was made king. Torrero only reigned for a few hours before resigning and a second election was initiated. The ensuing election did not correct that error, and Renee de Neige (High Marshall at the time) become Queen. After several weeks as Queen, during which time Hireshmont served as High Marshall, Renee stepped down from the post, and Hireshmont was elected King once again. All told, Hireshmont ruled 650 days: the longest of any Irombrozian king or queen.
    • Queen Retravic Slayer-Vellos- Married into the Vellos Family by marrying King Hireshmont Vellos. Helped strengthen ties with RoF, due to the fact that she was a Prime Minister of RoF, established the Monarchal Republic of Fwuvoghor, and is the first Queen of Fwuvoghor.
    • Crown Prince Hireshmont II- Firstborn of King Hireshmont and Queen Retravic, twin brother of Prince Valachi, but 10 minutes older. Crown Prince of Irombrozia, Prince of Fwuvoghor. Birth date March 21, 1007.
    • Prince Valachi- Secondborn of King Hireshmont and Queen Retravic, twin brother of Crown Prince Hireshmont II, but 10 minutes younger. Prince of Irombrozia, Crown Prince of Fwuvoghor. Birth date March 21, 1007.
  • Prince Amekal Vellos- Never ruler of Irombrozia, but the half-brother of King Hireshmont Vellos. Prophet of Qyrvaggism, and a member of the Irombrozian Royal Family.

De Neige Family

  • Queen Renee de Neige- Fourth (or fifth, depending on how you look at it) ruler of Irombrozia, second Queen, ruled from May 23, 1007, to August 23, 1007. Leader through the end of the War of Irombrozian Secession, and leader of the early days of the Invasion. Served with distinction as High Marshall. Ruled for a total of 92 days, through the summer of 07. Also presided over the transition from the Assembly/Cabinet system to a more direct rulership system, and helped establish the methods and precedents concerning the divided Kingdom, with the loss of Bolkenia. Stepped down due to exhaustion with the post.

Recena Family

  • King Anselm Recena- Fifth, sixth, or ninth ruler of Irombrozia, depending on the method of counting. Ruled from March 26, 1009 to August 27, 1009 for a total of 154 days. Rapidly rose upon arriving in Irombrozia to the post of Duke and General and, from there, when King Hireshmont abdicated, was elected King in a spot election, as all royal candidates declined the post. Lead Irombrozia into Delvin's War with immediate success. Re-established Irombrozia's alliance with Enweil, reconquered many lands, rebuilt the army. King Anselm is seen as a very good King, and as the last truly great Sunrise King of Irombrozia. Stepped down when pressure rose for peace with Riombara.
    • Meridius Recena- A close relative (brother?) of Anselm, who lives in Irombrozia.

Sworde Family

  • King Scurtingbord Sworde- Sixth, seventh, or tenth ruler of Irombrozia, depending on the counting. Ruled from August 28, 1009 to January 19, 1009, for a total of 144 days. Catastrophe struck during his reign as the army fell apart, Enweil did not support us as we expected, the war turned sour, and then the Plague struck and wiped out half of Irombrozia's nobility, and others slowly left the realm. Kingship seen as placeholder monarchy, oversaw negotiation of surrender of Irombrozia due to starvation, abandonment by allies and nobles, the Plague, and impending military defeat. One of the longest-serving nobles of Irombrozia, honored for his courage and loyalty.
