History

It is said in the ancient times of our land, the once-powerful realm of Athios created a great girdle of strength to help defend the realm. Every year a tournament pitted warrior against warrior in single combat until the best claimed the girdle and used its power to defeat the enemies of Athios. Other realms learned to fear this Warrior of Warriors, and often surrendered the field at the mere rumor of that warrior being in the area.

The Warrior of Warriors, and his girdle, fell into the deep waters off the coast centuries ago after a great battle against the pirates of Apasur. It has been lost to legend ever since, and Athios fell as a major power. Now a mere farmland, its legends still tell of the girdle and portend its return.

Current Events

It is reported that an adventurer named Crystal, claiming to be the daughter of Jerome Pryde, head of the Pryde Family from Tara, has found this item. She tells stories of fighting the undead in a desperate battle for survival. She shows the wounds she received in that battle, retelling each one for the adoring masses, until she whips out the Girdle of Athios, in all its gleaming golden luster, for all to see.

Whether this truly is the ancient Girdle of Athios or a cheap trinket made up by an adventurer in the hopes of gaining renown is unknown at this time.
