Galantos Family
"Saint Hubbins Preserve Us."
The Galantos Family are originally of Hawthorne in Eston, and were local to those lands as long as records have been kept, hiding away in the Manor wedged between Tinyarn Alley and Drape Lane, on the darkest corner of Raven Street. There has not been a notable military member of the Galantos family in some time, although they have produced many fine, humble moneylenders and accountants.
The last head of the family was Tarkas III, an elderly man of the most devout type. (His wife died in childbirth after producing several sons in short order. her name is either unspoken or forgotten.) When Tarkas was younger, his older brother Borugar drank himself to death after abandoning his wife. Deeply ashamed of his brother, Tarkas strove to be even more devout, and thus he took in his now orphaned nephew.
A cruel and small-minded man, he raised his boys to be either accountants or priests. Possibly both. They were forced to memorize the lives of the Saints, and spend long hours reciting scripture. Surrounded by dour, silent uncles dressed in black, Tarkas' sons grew to manhood within the musty and dark family manor.
Tarkas, after a long and miserable life, filled with enfeebled rage and bitterness, finally died a slow and horrible death, leaving naming Lexington as his heir.
The Patron Saint of the Galantos family is Saint Hubbins, also patron of well-crafted leathers and sturdy boots. The Galantoses follow the Way of the Warrior Saints.
Current History
After several generations, the Galantos Banners were forgotten. Spread across the known world, the sons of Tarkas either died in battles fought for foreign lords, or went mad with religious fervor and vanished into the wild.
In a cruel irony, the only descendants left alive after many years were the children of Bufort, son of Borugar, the most irresponsible and least chivalrous of all the Galantos blood. He was widely known as a cheat, a drunkard, a womanizer, and a villainous lout. Yet somehow he found time to marry and sire legitimate heirs. Raised far from the original family estate, the Sons of Bufort have recently begun to return from the South East Islands to Atamara (among other lands), to bring their house back to it's former standing.
To show their independence and distinction from the Galantos heritage, hey have taken the surname HURLANT.
As will all great houses, however, distant cousins and heirs began to reassemble the estates and fortunes. The Galantos banners flew again!

The military units that fight under the Hurlant banner are known as METAL HURLANT, wherever they may be found.
