Fontan (Realm)/Elections/Lilith
I see some have questioned my behaving style, saying I looked like a fair Judge at first glance but soon have deteriorated. Some of you in doubt joined the realm around the time I became Judge, so I think you really should go asking around what kind of people Lady Lilith was before she became the Judge? I believe people will tell you that I was always keeping my style. Fierce, keen to truth, never fear to speak up.
Some have also questioned that I seems to be lacking the proper attitude of being a ruler of the realm. Let me put it this way. I am now keeping two identity in this very realm of Democracy. I am a noble of this realm. I am also the Judge of this realm.
- As a noble of Democracy, I believe it is always my honour and responsibility to bravely point out what I think is inappropriate phenomenon. Sometimes I take it in the private way. Sometimes I take it before the whole public because I do not receive private responses or I believe the issue deserves public attention. I am always like this, since the day I have joined Fontan, not since somewhere around my Judge incumbency.
- As the Judge, I keep things fair. Every fine or ban I issued, are based on the Clause I wrote down on the Judge Bulletin. I even give the criminals chance to defend. And as the Judge, it is also my responsibility to try to correct any inappropriate phenomenon I find, so this is the reason why I did not stop my sometimes fierce quarrels with some of my fellow nobles.
But if I am to become the Chancellor, I am fully aware of the prerequisite I need, which means the proper way of adressing. And when that time really arrives, this will overrule my wish to vocal fiercely towards any inappropriate phenomenon, because when I become the authority, any inappropriate phenomenon still in existence then, is my fault to be corrected. I will become the silent working one, while all attacks on the inappropriate phenomenon from you, will be gladly accepted and try to be corrected by me.
My advocacies for Chancellery:
1. I will respect the will of the majority of Fontan on the attitude towards the peace treaty, but before the outcome reveals, I will continue to advocate for fight.
2. I will provide helps to the new Judge if the new Judge wish to write down a solid law of Fontan.
3. I will set down a regulation that makes the max incumbency of Chancellor of Fontan be four months. I support a strong military leadership due to the fact that Fontan is always a realm struggling against some of the big powers on the continent; ask Lycastus how many time I told him I would be happy to see him lead on our army. A transition state between military command will probably cause the realm serious problems, but not Chancellor. Chancellor is mainly in control of the diplomacy, and diplomacy is relatively slow in change when it compares with military situations, because it needs brain and time. Plus if the new Chancellor cares about the diplomacy and were already within the FA Group for a while, I think hardly any problems will come up when the transition occurs between new and old Chancellors. Last but not the least, there are many good nobles in this realm waiting to show off their talented nature but always failed to find the chance, because people are growing into a comfortable state with the current face. With the rotation, bad Chancellors can still be voted out very soon, while more gifted people will be discovered and given a showing stage. This helps Fontan to build up more skilled and loyal nobles instead of letting them leaving in frustration because of never finding the chance to perform. I cannot see any downside in this advocacy.
4. It is the promise and responsibility of Fontan to help the Coimbra people to rebuild their home. I wish to take a closer stance towards these people, hence I will create a new message group "Coimbra Dwellers" for those Coimbra people to join, reunite with their former fellows and easier for them to express their sounds regarding any issues on a new Coimbra. They deserve this.
5. I will reform the structure of confidential discussion groups to make it more efficient, less confusing to everyone. There will be three groups:
- High Council: Consisted of Council members (include Vice General if there is one), former Council members, city commanders, former city commanders.
- Foreign Affairs: Any Fontan nobles more than 20 days in the realm can enter.
- General Public: Those who do not interest in diplomacy will be the General Public.
All ruler channel messages will be related to FA, including mine. My words are open for you to inspect.
Small cases, such as Ibladesh is once again requesting some looting party from us to Perdan, will not be delivered to the General Public but only to the FA, and will be decided according to the consensus of FA.
Medium cases, like the plan on reviving Coimbra, will be decided according to the consensus of FA, but will be revealed to the General Public. Things with deep relations to our realm's history should not be open to the FA only, this will close up the chance for the new nobles to learn our past. From the fact that some newer nobles never heard the plan on a new Coimbra but have expressed interests on it, this should be of course a subject of change. If some nobles are not interested in the FA before but suddenly find you are in need to express your opinions on it to sway the decision, the FA will always be open to you.
Large cases, like the current debate on peace with Oligarch and possible war on Sirion and Old Ranc, should and will be handed to the High Council and the FA. Detail clause of the treaty to the High Council, while testing the attitude of the FA. If a consensus is reached in the High Council, move the detail clause of the treaty to the FA and test the attitude of the General Public. If a consensus is reached in the FA and the general voice is not to object the case, it will then pass, otherwise the debate will continue in FA or General Public, depending on the cases. Definitely not like now, throw the whole tihng out to the General Public all in a sudden without even reach a majority of agreement within the FA or even one's own Council.
6. As the Chancellor, I shall and will be the one who is responsible for any inappropriate phenomenon occuring in Fontan, so I will no longer enjoy the privilege of free talks until I am once no longer the Chancellor. If the new Judge like it, I support to write this into the Constitution: Every noble of Fontan shall enjoys the privilege of free talks, with the exception of Chancellor. The reason: The Chancellor is the ruler of Fontan, the privilege of free talks are granted to the nobles so they can fearlessly express their any concern towards Fontan, ie. without fearing to be retaliated by the ruler of Fontan in this Democracy, so the Chancellor of Fontan shall not enjoy the privilege of free talks, because the Chancellor is the ruler of Fontan. So the promise I made, my privilege of free talks will be restrained, and I will fulfill what I said. Those who in doubt of my mouth, I believe you can no longer question me on this matter.
I know many do not like me. My dauntless words offended you one way or another back in some time. That is because I always keep true to myself and to every of you. Anyone who thinks Lady Lilith has changed ever since she became one of the government officer, please raise your hands. I am still the Lady Lilith who fighting against any inproper things I believe needs a mention. Most of the nobles who are against me now are my fellows in government office, I am not sure what this means, but it is really a sad thing to see those who once close with me jumped out one by one against me. Sparky, zedd, I disagree on the way you manage the issue, but I do not wish to see our long time... fellowship shattered just because we are on different stances now towards Oligarch. I am running the Chancellor to show the people I can be a more capable one than zedd, I challenged zedd, not against zedd.
And I know there are some others in support of me, mainly those who outside of the political circle. I thanks all of your voices here. Due to the amount of messages I cannot reply one by one, but know my gratitude is high for understanding at least I am not alone. You can prove for me that my mouth is not always offensive, but really soft sometimes.
