This vile Book was given (not sold) to Xyst in his travels across Atamara by an old crone in the shadows. Understanding the potential power this book may give him, Xyst took it and the crone laughed hysterically then disappeared into the night.

Since the time he acquired the book, Xyst has used it in times when he is outnumbered in combat and once he used it to slow the ebbing of time to take items of power from other Nobles that were involved in a combat that they should not have won. He combined an item of fire and an item of ice that two different Nobles had and the monsters, that outnumbered them 3 to 1, were slain (of course the items 'borrowed' from other Nobles were returned to them before the ebbing of time returned to its proper state).

While Xyst claims the 'Evil' aspect of the book is nothing but glamor, he is constantly compelled to do things unfitting of one of Noble blood.
