Evans Family
The Evans family, or the House Evans, comes originally from Tunozo on the Far East Island, they have since moved to Palnasos.
Some time ago, they faded from public prominence, but have recently returned to taking an active part in politics. They have five scions that have been especially successful:
The Dame Eilonwy, who was a leading member of a knightly order in Avamar on the East Continent, and served the tiny realm as both General and Judge. After Avamar's downfall, she traveled to the islands that had been formed after terrific volcanic activity, and aided in the building of a new realm there, the Kalmar Islands. She retired from public life soon after, however, and returned to the family home. (Retired Character)
Lord Morvawn, her uncle and the black sheep of the family, served the Highland Empire on the Far East Island well, first as Count of Unotosa, then as a leading member of the rebellion that threw out the incompetent Sadi. He then served for a long time as Judge, and served as Marshal until he was captured by Lasanar; leading the military forces of the Empire in combat against the many invaders the Empire faces. His unit, the Myrmidons, was been recognized as one of the best in the Empire.
He was then selected as Count of Athios. Before long, however, his region was the only one left in the Empire. To prevent it from being lost to the hated Sartania, he was forced to surrender the region to the slightly less hated Lasanar. However, in an act of deception, they banned him soon after. He accepted an invitation to join the realm of Nighthelm, where he resided for some months before disappearing. His fate is unknown to this day. (Retired Character)
David, son of Eilonwy, was raised in Zonasa, growing up hearing tales of the old days when his family was highly influential there. Inspired by this, he hopes to one day be as successful in Zonasa as he believes his uncle Morgan was. He has been made Count of the region of Tunozo and marshal of one of the realm's two armies. Not as influential or distinguished as his storied uncle, he is nonetheless a success.
Seeking to find her own fortune apart from the name of her family in Zonasa, Elsebeth traveled to Dwilight, where she joined the realm of Morek. Serving the region of Yaren loyally as a knight, she later become its Viscountess when the previous Viscount left Dwilight and recommended her for the position. While maintaining her duties as Viscountess, she also managed a brief career as a trader, earning a modest profit and bringing vital food supplies to several friendly regions that might otherwise have starved. Recently, however, she has given up trading in favor of serving the religion of Sanguis Astroism as a priest. After a period of deep meditation, she has recently returned to active service.
Finally, of course, is Morgan Evans of Zonasa, brother of Eilonwy. His career has been varied depending upon who one talks to, there are those who hail him as a great hero and those who believed him a poison upon Zonasa -- and it is not entirely clear that Morgan himself disagrees with either viewpoint. For the most part, however, he has been quite successful. First serving as Baron of Razrpot during a relief effort, then later as Duke of Zonasa, Morgan was chosen as Regent after Prince Zhao Ziyang died in battle. With no viable heirs, Morgan was chosen as the next Prince -- unfortunately, his relations with the nobles of Zonasa deteriorated after this. His reign was far from peaceful, and nearly saw some of his own nobles rise up against him, but before things could reach a terrible resolution, he vanished without a trace.
He returned, just as mysteriously, years later, seeming the same age as he had been when he left. Though he desired to serve Zonasa simply and stay out of politics, he found that Zonasa was in need of his skills, and was reluctantly pushed into roles of greater responsibility, first as lord of Azarons, and now as Duke of Batesaor, leading the rebuilding of the city after a revolt. After his success in this, he was additionally given the responsibility of Banker, and continues to be a leading member of the realm in this dual capacity.
Rumors persist of a bastard scion of the family named Gretchen. Supposedly, she had a career as an adventurer in Beluaterra, but reports suggest she was killed by monsters there. (Dead Character)
New to the family is Jenkin. He isn't very smart, having suffered an unfortunate childhood accident that seems to have something to do with a stone (the details aren't very clear). How his career goes remains to be seen.
