The fourth most populous region of Arcachon, the Dark Isle, Ecsetuah is a rural, coastal land consisting of seventeen villages situated on an even mix of watered coastal plains and inland coniferous forest. It is close to Ohnar West on the mainland, and several of it's harbours serve as transshipment points for trade and travel across the Arcachon Channel.

Economy

Ecsetuah, as a rural region, lacks the wealth, trade and accumulated mass of Townslands, it is populated mostly by uneducated peasants. As such, it's economy relies primarily on agriculture, and as such, Omorthion is considered the Patron and main God of the lands. Food produce is the main export, from farming, livestock or fishing. Other resources include gold, logs, limestone, granite, iron and copper; pearls are sometimes harvested along the coastline and at least one village is known to grow a crop of opium.

Manufactured goods, along the lines of wooden barrels, boats, sails and ships, are found on the coast while lumber is produced further inland. As with most regions in the world, ale is commonly brewed and consumed as the main drink in Ecsetuah, and the locals strongly believe that theirs is of the highest quality.

Religion

As a Theocracy, religion plays a large role in the lives of the people, and Ecsetuah is no exception. With a largely common, rural populace, Adaghar is less worshipped than Omorthion, while the other deities of the Adgharhin Way are acknowledged but rarely popular.

While shrines to various deities - including, it is rumoured, some of the older Gods of pre-historical Arcachon - are found everywhere, the primary religious building is a Temple of Adaghar, located in the midst of the northwestern forest, where the Deletuah Monastary used to be before it fell into disrepair. This Temple was constructed by Elerik Taim in an effort to spread the Adgharhinist faith.

Military

Ecsetuah is the home of the "Holy Storm Crusaders" the elite army of Arcachon, and former Vanguard of the Holy Legate, the army finds its sole sponsorship from the taxes and income of the land. Ecsetuah, once formerly known for the Burning Sword Khakar, Infantry who are equipped with a long spear and a broadsword (Normally in the "Flamberg style, hence the name Burning Sword) but only lightly armoured and with no shield, leather caps or jerkins, in the tradition of the Swords of Adaghar. However, the training and recruitment of these soldiers long died out, and instead the lands are known for the training of "Clansmen Of The Hearth" Ranged Special Forces of the highest quality equipment. The lands also produce soldiers commonly referred to as "Dark Isle Shortbows", well trained and with above average equipment, these form largely reserve for troops for the Dark Isle.

Though the coastal front line against the Ohnarians's, Ecsetuah long forsook the garrisoning of soldiers in its lands, in favour of hiring soldiers directly under Clansmen nobility, to be lead as a marching army. Though once Ecsetuah held a mighty garrison to defend its beaches from foreign invasion.

Where once the stark black banner of House Dodger flew above the humble battlements, the purple and green device of the Holy Storm Crusaders, and Countess Farnese, now flies over the crenellations.

The Hill is situated at a central crossroads where trade routes from Mnalor to the north and Soniel to the east intersect. It's home to the most talented smiths of the region, who once produced the namesake flamberg swords of the Burning Sword Khalkar, it now produces the elite and high quality armour and equipment used by the Clansmen Of The Hearth in addition to things such strong iron nails and rivets for ship building and other lesser woodwork.
