History

It is unknown how this item was found. I received it from a man named V'kesta who told me he had been given it by another noble who had asked for it's repair, but disappeared before it could be brought back to him. I later found our from Premier Mordred that the Mail had belonged to Duke Belzer of Fwuvoghor city. After quite a bit of searching in the libraries of Fwuvoghor I came across a few mentions to it, as well as a legend. The book tells me that the legend had been copied by monks years ago, from blood soaked pieces of parchment. It reads as follows:

"Day and night we walked, traveling further north. It has been weeks since we last saw a settlement. Still we continue on seeking to create a settlement of our own. Our leader, keeps pressing us on, telling us that he will know when the place is right for us to stop. Several families we are, and the women and children grow tired.

We have convinced the leader to stop and let us rest for a day. We had just reached the foothills of the mountains. The ground here is dark, and covered with ash.

We were awoken by screams, horrible, blood curling screams. I did not catch a glimpse of the beast, but the fire that came from it's snout, that I did see. Day broke, and we counted five mangled and burnt corpses, and two were missing, including my own son. The men of the group formed a party, and headed up the mountain, in the direction we thought the beast went. We trecked for hours, the terrain becoming ever steeper. We caught the stench of rotting flesh, and followed it. It grew ever stronger, and soon enough we began to catch glimpses of fire. We had found our prey. Hurredly we put together a plan, and we rushed in to attack the beast. Nine good men we lost that day, including our leader, but we slew the beast. The treasures we found in the area were grand, but the one that caught my eye the most was a piece of armour. Its exterior shone with the brightest twinkle one ever did see. It appeared to me as scales, in almost exact replica as the creature we slew. It's interior was of a woven mail such as one would wear into the heaviest of battles. The piece was heavy to lift, but in wearing felt no heavier than cloth.

Gathering as much of the treasure as the remaining few of us could carry, we headed back to where we had left the women and children. I was elected the new leader of the group, and decided that we should settle here. I named the place Fianik, for my dead son."

I have found this armor whilst my men were foraging the battlefield after Enweil broke Republican armies in conquering city of Fwuvoghor. However, after a thourough investigation, I found out that none of the participants lost it in the battle, therefore, it must have laid there for who knows how long. I have also fervishly searched Fwuvoghorian library, but to no avail; I could find nothing new on item's history.
