Aeron joined the Dawn Guard as they marched into Dunnbrook, the Dawn at their backs as the silver clad warriors of the Isle made haste to protect the region.

They found their foe quickly, six archers bearing the colors of the Kubo Family had formed up and were firing on a horde of fourteen mounted Goblins riding wolves forward towards the archers.

Aeron drew his longsword and pointed forward and with a stern and loud voice ordered. "DAWN GUARD PROTECT THE ARCHERS, SPEARWALL FORMATION, CHARGE!" The warriors quickly charged forth in their formation, drawing spears and leveling them down as they rushed forward.

Captain Dirlen let out a cry of. "NOW!" And Lieutenant Petir blew the war-horn of the Isle as the three sergeants held their banners high, A mix of the Daubeny Sun, The Stars of the Isle and the Golden Anchor of Tol Goldora. Arrows flew past them and struck down a few of the monsters as the Dawn Guard rushed past the clearly shocked archers.

As the Goblin Wolf Riders closed in the Dawn Guard suddenly halted, the first rank dropping to a knee and holding their spear out as the rank behind them formed up just behind them, pointing their spears above the kneeling first rank. The sudden formation change was unexpected as the Wolf Riders couldn't halt their mounts before crashing into the spears as the Dawn Guard let out a cry.

"WE ARE THE SHIELD, WE ARE THE DAWN!" The spear-wall shattered the enemy's charge and in an instant almost all the beasts were slain, a few wolves broke through and sunk their teeth into armored arms and legs drawing little blood. A lucky goblin thrust their spear forward and stabbed it into the throat of one warrior as his comrades stabbed back and killed the beast.

The few survivors or those that managed to halt their charge before rushing into the spear-wall started to fall back towards the south and the forest of Mech Calen.

With the battle won Aeron began to tend to the wounded, bandaging and disinfecting wolf bites, the goblins crude spears causes no wounds but the death of one of the Dawn Guard, who Captain Dirlen informed him was named Sam.

Sam was laid to rest, the spear removed and his neck bandaged, he was left with his sword in his hands. They laid his body on a small raft and sent it down the river, firing a single flaming arrow into the hay they had laid his body upon. Sending the raft aflame out towards the sea. The Goblins were piled up and burnt unceremoniously, their mounts were skinned for furs and meats and then tossed into the pyre as well.

With the region partly secure Aeron had a camp set up, whilst the camp was made he sent his few healers over to the Fox Longbows to see if they needed tending too. Aeron then sat down and got to writing his letters.
