Gold

The entire world wants gold. It is a precious metal that moves the race of man. It is banged into coins that are used to buy and sell vast legions of men and women, swords, horses, homes, food and all things most humans desire. The common concept of gold is nothing new to you, but the Darkan view on Gold may be.

In Darka we worship Gold. It is both holy and an honored. You see, every coin that has ever passed among our people was firstly earned in (or looted from) a Mercenary Contract of war. Countless Darkans have died for our gold in the past, and we see each coin as a drop of Darkan blood from our fallen kin. We do not see Gold as common currency. We see Gold as our sacred lineage.

Golden Rules

• The Gold you earn should be hoarded, held, spent or donated with one thing in mind; Gold is your sacred inheritance as a Noble Mercenary of Darka.

• Gold replaces Honor in matters of war and blood.

• We question no war when the proper Gold is offered for declaring it.

• Our bankers are to be respected as some of the most holy of people; almost on par with our Priests.

• The Kingdom of Darka stands to bring itself and its people Gold.

• When there is war, there is Gold. When there is no war, there is no Gold.

• In Darka is it not tolerated without permission of the law to send large

Family Gold

The following is from the King's bulletin posted for all the realm. It is spoken from the Crown to you.

Unless for very specific reasons, please do not send money home to your families.The family wealth will be kept track of publically and privately if sending home money is not controlled, we can not keep everyone equipped with a good sized force.

My Gold

I am a rare breed of Darkan. I have no love for Gold nor do I care how much I have or need. Darka shall always provide me the best life in times of riches and times of poorness. Most Darkans would find my view on Gold to be almost criminal. But do not mistake my lack of lust for it to cloud your judgment. I honor, respect and hail Gold as what it truly is...The Blood of my Home...Darka.
