Letter from Balkeese Indirik Message sent to the Rulers of East Continent The following message was sent from Prime Minister Meristenzio to a Perdanese noble 4 days ago:

Letter from Meristenzio Peristaltico Dear Atanamir,

Perhaps you remember Guy Revan yourself, he is really a wild dog and no one can claim to control him. I guess he's hunting Evangeline for her bounty.

We do not mean any harm to Perdan, and there was no order sent to him about going there.

Regards,

Sir Meristenzio Peristaltico Prime Minister of Sirion

So, you knew that a rogue infiltrator claiming Sirionite allegiance was wandering Perdan lands, and you did nothing to stop it.

And then a few hours ago:

Knight temporarily absent (7 hours, 38 minutes ago) An assassination attempt on Evangeline Uceek (Dame of Perdan) has left her seriously wounded.

Your "wild dog" has struck.

Scribe Note Scout Report (Partora)

I can personally vouchsafe that none of the other nobles in Partora, all Perdanese nobles, are infiltrators by profession.

You will, since Guy Revan is a "wild dog" and you "do not mean any harm to Perdan", immediately ban Guy Revan from Sirion. And as a gesture of goodwill toward Lady Evangeline, you will also, of course, deliver to her the 7,000 gold bounty that guy Revan collected in compensation for the ordeal caused her by your infiltrators despicable attacks, which you anticipated, and took no action to prevent.

Lady Balkeese Indirik Queen of Perdan

Letter from Meristenzio Peristaltico (5 days, 14 hours ago) Message sent to the Rulers of East Continent (7 recipients) Dear Queen Balkeese,

You seem to care more about enemy infiltrators roaming your realm than else lately, I wonder why.

At any rate, to answer your message, I am the Prime Minister of Sirion, not Guy Revan's dad. I have better things to do than worrying about what he is going to do. Our nobles shall take the full consequences of their actions on them if they are found guilty. And without actually considering the fact that you are not giving me any objective proof since your statement basically relies on your own word and nothing else, among everything sir Guy could do, assaulting Lady Evangeline is exactly one that I won't punish him for.

Know that the feelings Sirion has towards Lady Evangeline are purely personal since she has been a long-lasting member of Westmoor during the days when it was ruled by a far less honourable ruler than King Corwin is. I would bet more than half that bounty was put by our own nobles even if of course I can't really prove it. I mean no harm to Perdan, and that is true. For us, Lady Evangeline was first a former member of Westmoor that acted in such a way as to gain her that bounty, than a member of Perdan. I guess that is not your point of view, but I do not pretend you would share my view on it. And I invite you to let me know if you are at knowledge of any other mischief done by a Sirion noble in Perdanese land that does not involve her for they would indeed be punished. It's not the change of a flag that can wipe out the past of someone. Not for me at least.

And if we want to tell all the story, that message I wrote to Atanamir was in response of a message sent by him to me begging mercy for a relative of his that tried to assault Guy Revan but was catch by Sirion's guard just few days ago, hiding such act -that is by the way on the very same level of Guy's attack on Evangeline- behind the claim he was defending Perdan. From what he knew Guy could have been on his way to visit a temple in Ibladesh so that is honestly just a lame excuse to save his relative's skin.

Guy Revan, which currently carry on his head a considerable bounty as well, has been repeatedly attacked by Perdanese infiltrators without success (of course before all this took place), and, just as I did not come to this channel to wave around how Perdanese infiltrators attacked one of Sirion nobles during the ceasefire, I naively expected you would have done the same. The exception is that this time there are big numbers to put on the tables to make this a sensational news. If we want to speak about numbers, well, you would be glad to know that Sirion would happily make use of this gold, if for real Guy Revan is the one that made the deed, to repay what Perdan's attacks in the past caused us to lose: the irreplaceable walls in Ustimbar and Osslamar built by our forefathers and now lost forever. After this we can really forgive what happened and look together to a peaceful future.

With respect,

Sir Meristenzio Peristaltico Prime Minister of Sirion

Letter from Balkeese Indirik (5 days, 9 hours ago) Message sent to the Rulers of East Continent (7 recipients) Prime Minister Meristenzio,

I am always worried about ignoble murderers roaming through Perdan's lands. While one could possibly see some military use for such, as unfortunate as it may be, during a time of war, this is not a time of war. So therefore we should not be expecting, nor should it be acceptable to any civilized noble, that there are foreign assassins stalking around our cities.

You are, through a chain of vassalage, Guy Revan's ultimate liege lord. He is a sworn noble of Sirion. That means you are responsible for each and every one of his actions, whether you personally order it or not. This is the foundation of the feudal system. He is answerable to you, up through the chain of vassalage, and you are responsible for him, down through that same chain.

But it is nice to know that Sirion attempts to subvert the feudal hierarchy by claiming that it doesn't apply to them.

You claim that you are not responsible for his actions. But the you claim that you will in turn be glad to benefit from the actions he takes. That's very convenient for you: All of the benefit, none of the responsibility.

The actions taken by Perdan in Osslamar and Ustimbar were the result of formally declared war. A formal state of hostilities between our two realms. Assassination outside of time of war is, quite plainly, murder. And you are, by your own admission, condoning cold blooded murder of fellow nobles, and providing shelter to those that would commit murder.

It is no wonder that I have received multiple letters from others who also describe Sirion's cavalier attitude about their cadre of murderers.

Letter from Sinted Dacara (5 days, 5 hours ago) Message sent to the Rulers of East Continent (7 recipients) Sir Guy Revan seems to have joined Ibladesh.

I have given him ultimate living standards under which he will have to swear an oath. If not, he is out. I nor Ibladesh are responsible for his actions.
