Letter from David Ironheart

Greetings King Dobromir,

I am aware that our correspondences are few, but there is a question that I have been thinking about for a while. King of Caligus, what is the objective of the war against Westmoor?

Does Caligus seek more land? since I see that your realm has amassed a great areas of the continent already.

If it is revenge against Queen Micna? she is no longer the ruler now, but if this is indeed the case, would Caligus be satisifed if Westmoor handed her over?

Or is it to do with helping Sirion? I can assure you, that the all powerful Sirion needs help from no one. If the objective is to simply neutralize Westmoor then that can be discussed, in a peace treaty involving Caligus, Westmoor and Sirion.

Of course, these are only thoughts. I, myself have never been a man of war. If it is within my hands, I would have already have made peace with Sirion. However, I would equally be happy, if I could help even a little in bringing peace to any other place in the continent.

Sincere regards,

Sir David Ironheart
Sultan of Sultanate of Asena, Marshal of the Iron Wolves of Asena

Letter from Dobromir Menethil

Sir David Ironheart,

I think less then two weeks ago Westmoor rejected a treaty to simply make peace with both Caligus and Sirion.

Yes, things have changed from since Caligus declared war on Westmoor and I do realise that. However, I cannot simply make peace with Westmoor and let them turn on my allies whether they are powerful or not. I can tell you this Caligus isnt participating in the war against Westmoor full steam just yet we have other things we are dealing with.

I really have no interest in getting involved in anything else but Westmoor will have to accept they will not be allowed to attack Sirion. Something I'd like to point out is that Fontan has done multiple indiscressions and Caligus has not acted on them and we wont be.

If you need proof that my words are true here's the letter.

Prime Minister Meristenzio, King Dobromir,
After a long and hard deliberation with you, my allies, and my council I have decided it is in the East Continent's best interest to stand with my allies. Our peace talks were a great and welcome change in diplomacy and I appreciate your willfulness to work out a peace with Westmoor, but the cost of such a peace is much too high.
A peace must include all of the North so that stability can once again be brought to all of our regions.
Regards,
Corwin D'Saferate
King of Westmoor

King of Caligus

Letter from David Ironheart

King Dobromir,

I see, first I wish to thank you for not using your realm's full might against Westmoor. I hope that the war with Westmoor, will remain a minor issue for Caligus, until peace is made.

Second, in regards to the peace negotiations. From my correspondence with King Corwin, it seemed that he was eager to make peace with Sirion, and your noble realm. However, we heard that Sirion had a condition, in which it asked Westmoor to lower her relations to us, is this true? and is this the main condition that the three parties couldn't agree upon?

Sincere regards,

Sir David Ironheart
Sultan of Sultanate of Asena, Marshal of the Iron Wolves of Asena

Letter from Dobromir Menethil

Sultan David,

I am unaware of this clause. If anything no other realm should be able to dictate who they are allied with. Had King Corwin brought it up with me directly I would have discussed with Sirion about dropping it.

Dobromir Menethil
King of Caligus

Letter from David Ironheart

King Dobromir,

If this is the case, then I can only assume that King Corwin himself has mistakenly assumed that Sirion was already sharing all information concerning the peace negotiations with Caligus.

I've already urged the King to do what he can to sign peace with both Sirion and Caligus, if it involved anything but that humiliating condition.

Please know that we don't wish to get Westmoor involved in the war against Sirion anymore, if it means peace with your realm. However, like you yourself has said, no realm has the right to dictates to the other who they can and can not ally with.

Sincere regards,

Sir David Ironheart
Sultan of Sultanate of Asena, Marshal of the Iron Wolves of Asena

Next part is a repeat of King Dobromir asking Meristenzio what he knew about the subject

As far as I stand if Westmoor even try attacking Sirion we will start going at them full force. Our raid last week was to make sure they didnt do such a thing.

Letter from Meristenzio Peristaltico

King Dobromir,

<Cut part due to it being unrelated>

Well anyway, I'll be honest with you about this issue as I've been before, since you gained my trust in time.

Recently, seeing the tide turning against Fontan, both OI and Westmoor tried repeatedly to make peace with us. Of course the contribution they had in the war is not comparable, and in addition Emperor Shady seems to understand that they can't just come up with such a proposal without anything that would allow us to forgive them. Something that King Corwin did not understand, and he just keep asking me peace of the "let's just forget what happened" kind, which I frankly feel insulting at least.

After some time King Corwin approached me (and not me him) with said proposal: peace if they cancel the alliance with SoA. After all the failed talks we had, I accepted to discuss this proposal for at least brought with it something concrete in our favor rather than just "forget about the past let's be friends". After a while he actually changed his mind and asked for something in exchange, while trying to push for a global peace with Fontan and SoA, something I clearly refused before. I proposed to include you in the talks as you mentioned me you would be willing to make peace, and after a while he suddenly signed a federation with SoA and talks ended.

I have been informed that more than one Westmoor noble was puzzled by these actions, just as I was given he did everything alone: proposing first and withdrawing after.

My heart is not broken by being Westmoor and Sirion still at war, and honestly I think I acted honorably, avoiding to actually try to make any fancy or dirty trick with the offer by king Corwyn in the hand (I discovered that the reason why Sultan David insulted me openly in the ruler's channel some time ago was because of this, and I had more than one reason to actually point out how he was accusing the wrong person, but I remained silent). I am simply interested in keeping the northern war a fair one while at the same time letting everyone understand that what they did against us in the past can't be wiped out so easily. No tricks of any sort.

I hope this explains you the situation.

With respect,

Sir Meristenzio Peristaltico
Prime Minister of Sirion

Prime Minister Meristenzio,

By any chance you dont have the letter from Westmoor offering to drop relations do you? Obviously in a his word against my word will go nowhere so Im seeing if perhaps you have proof for me to show.

Letter from Meristenzio Peristaltico

King Dobromir,

I was just about to go to bed and suddenly I thought that, without that letter, all my statements would be void. I just catch my scribe when he was about to throw it away in the old correspondence. This must be my lucky day

Letter from Corwin D'Saferate (30 days, 16 hours ago)
Prime Minister Meristenzio,
I have been researching options to ensure a peaceful resolution to our conflict.
Sirion's efforts in this war are to see the reinstatement of the noble realm of Old Rancagua. This means that your war efforts are directed towards the Sultanate. Is peace between our two reams possible if Westmoor drops our alliance with the Sultanate?
Regards,
Corwin D'Saferate
King of Westmoor

Anyway since I did not use this letter against Westmoor, I would hope you will do the same. I mean no harm through this. I am confident of your honorable nature.

With respect,

Sir Meristenzio Peristaltico
Prime Minister of Sirion
