The region of Bym lies just to the north-west of the city of Eylmon. The mountains that make up most of the terrain within its boundaries are rich with minerals. All different types of resources are mined out of the hills, the most common being iron that is shipped by ox cart towards the city of Eylmon to be turned into more useful items that are then sent on towards the grand city of Eno to the south.

With mountains being a very dominant feature of the landscape of Bym, it is no wonder that farming is not a very popular job to have. Only a few places are fertile enough for crops to grow, and whatever is grown is sent straight to the granaries to feed the tired and hungry miners fresh from their shifts inside the mountains.

There are 3 major mountains that reside within Bym, the highest one is the one that resides in the center of the region, has 3 large mines dug deep within it. These mines are open 24 hours a day with just under 1/3 of the male population of Bym working down the shafts or transporting the extracted resources to the loading docks at the foot of the mountain. These mines are the main supplies of iron to the southern regions. Making the region of Bym a very valuable prize to have.

The other two mountains, one to the north-west, the other to the north-east, have smaller but no less valuable mines. Their main extractions are gold and silver, these precious metals are then sent towards the many workshops of Eylmon, Jidington and Grehk to be turned into the items of luxury that all commoners envy.

There are not many roads that lead through the mountains, and those that do are heavily congested with trade caravans, pack horses and soldiers. This means that travel through Bym is slow at best. An average unit of soldiers can take as long as 10 hours to traverse the mountains that form the region of Bym. This has its advantages in that it helps to break up an enemy attack, which means the defenders can deal with the attacking forces piecemeal, ensuring the odds are always in the defenders' favour.
