The lithe redhead placed the hard-won items on the counter. Her fingers reluctant to release their hold on the one rare piece of treasure she'd found; a gleaming band of gold that still shone like the day it was forged.

A look of surprise flashed across the grizzled shopkeeper's face. He ignored the other trinkets and reached out eagerly to take the shining ring. Seemingly drawn in by it's dazzling gleam, he turned it round and round. His touch confirming what his eyes told him.

"You said this was found here in Qubel, lass? But where?"

Green eyes met his in a meaningful stare. Her gaze and weary expression telling him more than words might. His face paled for just a moment before his long years as a trader pushed to the fore. "So... the Folly was it then, lass? Aye"

His voice settling down a bit, though he could not help but look the girl over again. How had this slip of a girl braved Qubel's Folly and survived? No, not just survived but come away with a treasure such as this.

"Well lass, there is none but a noble that can afford a piece of magic like this. For magic it is; I've felt it's kind only once or twice before."

He laid the ring back in her open palm and her fingers closed around it. "I can put the word out for you, lass. You know, talk it around a bit and maybe whisper to a few guardsmen that I know." The trader in him fully back now, "For a price of course"

She nodded faintly to him, her voice tinged with exhaustion. "Of course... for a price".

With that she tucked the ring away in her leathers and turned to find a room with a bath and a soft bed. She could not remember being so tired ever. As she made her way down the cobbles a thought occurred to her... No noble would care what she had to go through to get this rare treasure. No, they would simply want it for themselves so they might impress those around them. Ah well, hopefully they'd be willing to pay handsomely for that chance.

Soon after acquiring it, Freeman Kiir sold the Ring to Sir Mathias Ridder, Duke of Port Nebel as a gift of betrothal to his one true love.
