After searching the area for hours, following trails and noises, Candido finally encounters a small horde of monsters. He notices that they have a leader, an alpha monster, a really big and ugly one. Battle rages viciously, Candido against the monsters, on and on and on. Then the monsters seem to have the upper hand, there are so many! But Candido is faster, and smarter. Narrow game trails that he knows from childhood help him outmaneuver the monsters. They can not wield their clubs in their huge arms, but the adventurer can wield his small sword with his nimble limbs. His blows land true and he strikes most of them down, while a few monsters manage to flee. The big and ugly one is the last, but after an exhausting fight Candido the Adventurer manages to take him down, too.
Among the loot, there is the "Black Scythe of Battle".
In times long ago, when all things metal were scarce, the Scythe was forged. Magic was abundant, all equipment was blessed and fashioned with Purpose: the scythe was to work the fields. Yet, as all scarce tools in that era, it served multiple purposes. In times of war, the Scythe would harvest enemies.
It is said that the Scythe can not be cleansed when it is used against one of your own. The bloodstains dry up and turn black. Some of it remains ingrained in the tool, strengthening it. And asking for more blood. Slowly, the Scythe became a weapon first and a farmers tool second. Over centuries, the Scythe turned Black, having only one Purpose, then its magic faded. Today, its owners no loner yearn for blood, but grain cut with the Scythe of Battle will turn black. Behold the Black Scythe of Battle.
