The White Guardians are a folktale of embodiments of the snow itself, that seal in the land under the ice and snow, protecting germinating seeds until spring when they unlock the potential hidden in the earth.

There is a legend of someone lost in the woods in winter, who curled up in a hollow, waiting to die. They dreamed of seven tall hunters, standing around them, guarding them from the bitterest winds and the harshest snowfalls. They appeared as tall pale warriors, many with bows, carved from wood with the smallest of flowers growing from them. The tallest, clad in leathers and furs as white as the snow around them, had a ring that glowed. Where they gestured the other hunters would immediately go forth, and it was said that the light pillars sometimes seen about the land were in truth this Ring lighting the path.

There is another legend related to a white stag, with rings adorning its antlers, that has never been caught...But those who follow it are always led to the freshest of waters. Whether there is any connection between these legends is a matter of great speculation and debate wherever ale flows.
