Treason and Sedition By Relkin Sypher February 14th '08

A trial has opened in the case of Sir Dominus Gladius. He has been charged with treason. Full text of the charges will be published once available. Truly tragic, as Dominus's own brother fought and died heroicly in defense of Minas Ithil.

Mansbridge falls By Relkin Sypher February 13th '08

Norland has taken control of Mansbridge. Several hastily planned attacks attempted to dislodge the occupying forces but to no avail. With the fall of Mansbridge, Melmoor is likely to be soon to follow now that it is isolated from the rest of the realm. Truly a sad day for Minas Ithil.

Barony of Makar attacks By Relkin Sypher February 5th '08

The Barony of Makar has attacked Minas Ithil forces in Elost. Their excuse is that a priest of Magna Serpaensism preached in Barad Riel over a month ago. Despite the fact that the priest could easily have reached there from another realm, the Barony of Makar has decided that our King is personally responsible. The Barony of Makar's attack was repelled in Elost, and the Barony has yet to see fit to formally declare war. Attacking without a formal declaration of war is a cowardly act on their part. One would have expected better from brave Viking warriors.

Minas Ithil stands ready to defend itself against both Viking realms if necessary, and looks forward to many more victories.

War grows hot in winter By Relkin Sypher February 1st '08

After Norland's attack several days ago on Mansbridge, Minas Ithil launched an attack on Shiverwood. Overpowering the local defenders our troops went to work seizing tax gold bound for their capital and damaging the local fortifications. We then returned to Mansbridge, however some were caught by advancing Norlander forces with High Marshall Raoul wounded in the fighting.

This evening Norland attacked Mansbridge once again. With about 200 more infantry than the attacking forces Norland's attack was doomed from the start. Some troops slipped out of the gates before they closed, disrupting Norlands battle lines and delaying their ability to set up their siege engines. With their lines in disarray, Norland's forces were cut down quickly. Only one Norland unit reached the top of the walls, only to be quickly cut down and driven back by the defenders. Norland suffered casualties of 643 and Minas Ithil had casualties of 276. Baron Birdy of Hernepoole was killed during the battle.
