I've been toying with the Age of Wonders editor for the fun of it, get my minds off things... But I've noticed a few things. For one, the resolution isn't the same... Things display on the editor rather larger than they do on the BM maps, by the looks of it. Second point is how do you extract them into an image file? I can't imagine using "print screen" for this, though I suppose it could be done. Finally... the cities. They appear blurred with weird question marks on them, how do you change that? Any other info one who has never played the game should know? -[[User:Chénier|Chénier]] 21:39, 9 May 2008 (CEST)

Hmm. This page might be a little more useful if it were less chatty. Also, there's no point in listing Genoa anymore, since it's not the right font. Maybe summarize some of this info in a bulleted list? What would be really useful would be samples or links to files representing the intermediate steps. --John 28 October 2005 21:02 (CEST)

Map Editor

Actually, if anyone thinks another map editor is good, please show me some screenshots of the maps it makes. I don't specifically like AoW, it's just the only thing that gives somewhat good maps. All others I have checked are either ugly or use the wrong scale. Scale is especially important. --Tom 28 October 2005 23:37 (CEST)

  • Civilization III is excellent and looks great, but you cant put in cities, so far as I know. Vellos 2 February 2006 06:53 (CET)

GIMP Griefs

Okay, I am running Mac OS X 10.4, and I downloaded GIMP for Mac OS X. It says it needs the X11 plugin. I got the X11 plugin, and tried to install it. Unfortunately, an error message popped up saying, "Unable to install, newer software present". Thus I am at an impasse. I cannot install X11, thus I cannot use GIMP. I thought for a moment, perhaps a new version of X11 is out, but no. I looked, it is for OS 10.3.0-10.3.9 Can anyone help me? If newer software is present, shouldnt GIMP recognize it? Right click on the city and modify it's parameters. Once you set it a race it will show up properly. I'm also interested in hearing how a map can be exported as an image as well! -Balewind
